... the bayou. It should be a great change of scenery. We have the same hotel booked that we stayed in over 10 years ago when we were last in New Orleans. We're curious to see what it looks like since Katrina. We'll be there for 3 nights which includes Jody's birthday on the 2nd. I'm sure we will find some great places to eat.

... so there will be problems drying the footwear, but I do turn the AC to heat and 90 degrees before I leave for Al-T's.
I end up sitting at the bar and enjoying some Gumbo as well as my perennial southern favorite, Frog Legs. Very hard to get in Canada and it is, in my opinion, the overlooked other 'other' white meat. If people would get over the sqeamishness of a frog they would find the meat to be delicate and very tasty.
After New Orleans, we decide to cut our drive to Austin short and stop in Beaumont, Texas. Yep…Beaumont, Texas. The one thing I can say about Beaumont is that they took the phrase "Everything's a little bigger in Texas" to heart.
