... forward 3 hours.....we are back on the road by 3:30, fighting rush hour traffic and terrible roads. But on the bright side, we drove through groves of peach trees, plum trees, pistachio trees, corn, sugar cane and miles of grape fields.
Tonight we are camped in a nice RV campground on the banks of a small river. We are 40 miles from the Sequoia National Park where we will go tomorrow.
So the adventure continues.....

The arrival of morning was exciting for us as we were heading to Vegas and we were so happy to leave Bakersfield behind.
The big concern for this backpack trip, besides food, is that I'm just coming off a knee injury. It is actually an old ski injury that flared up when I increased my incline on the tread mill, one of our cardio routines. I didn’t do anything about it for a couple of weeks just thinking it would go away but when it didn’t then I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with tendinitis.
