... instead of using paint to mark the trail, they have cairns (piles of rocks bound with cement) to follow. Now if you are hiking on a granite mountain, make sure you take lots of water and wear sunscreen as there is not a lot of shade and the rocks reflect the heat. There are lots of areas to explore there and I have just started. And the best thing is that it is free!

From the airport taking the Alajuela bus to San Jose, then a taxi to the Carthago bus station and from there to Carthogo where I will need to take a bus to Orosi. My plane is leaving the USA at 10:46 am, arriving around 1 pm in Costa Rica...so I should have enough time getting to Orosi before it's dark.
