Not worth it
I wasn't sure where to go in El Paso. Being close to the airport and staying at the Hilton I thought "how could I go wrong?". The staff was pretty friendly, but the lobby was run down. The rooms were dirty. My trash cans weren't even emptied. The extra blanket provided was crusty and the tv had no remote to order movies. The room service was so-so. For the price we payed for a 3 night stay they could easily afford to refurbish the rooms, clean the linens, and empty the trash.
Bugs and dustorrible
Stay here for one week. Not one at the front desk, gave us any information about complimentary breakfast. Not refrigerator in room, very dusty behind the bed and around night tables, so if you have allergies take your meds, bathroom floor was dirty on arrival, and with bugs coming out at night.
Bugs still around
I stayed at the Hilton El Paso Airport on June 23rd. After a long day in flight and in Juarez, Mexico - I needed a relaxing night.
I had read the previous reviews about the bugs et al and specifically asked the front desk about the cleanliness during check-in. I am a Hilton Silver Awards Member and was assured that the rooms were clean.
I was given a room outside the pool - and as soon as I entered - there were the bugs - crawling on the floor. They seemed to be near the sliding door going toward the pool and looked like water bugs - although I am certainly not a bug expert.
Since I figured the staff may not believe the story -I saved the carcasses to show them the 4 bugs that I killed in the first hour.
The front desk said they would send someone down and a lady knocked and said "I will spray but you must leave the room - the spray is toxic". Leave the room?? It was 10:00 pm. Where was I going to go?
I sent the lady away and called the front desk again - and "David" moved me to a suite on the 2nd floor. He was helpful and offered to assist with my bags. By that time - I was in the "just get me to a clean room" mentality.
I travel enough to understand that as long as the room is clean - the TV, mini-bar and other amentities are only extra. Just make sure the room is clean.
Needless to say - I will not be staying there again.
I researched many hotels in El Paso before finally deciding upon the Hilton El Paso Airport due to its close proximity to the Airport, Fort Bliss and the best shopping and dining in El Paso. I was really worried about my decision after reading the other reviews, but I could not have been more satisfied! This hotel was excellent!!! We stayed in a King Suite on the 3rd floor with a gorgeous view of the pools and courtyard area, palm trees, blooming flowers and the mountains in the background. The 200 foot waterslide was awesome! The food at both Magnim's Lounge and Canarozzo's on Hilton's premises was extremely tasty, with huge portions, and reasonable prices (and 1/2 price with my Entertainment Card). The workout room was nice and updated with newish machines. Not once did I run into a single bug, rotten carpet or an unfriendly staffmember! Everyone was pleasant, eager to assist in any way and made for an even more enjoyable stay. My husband and I both loved it and would definitely stay here again!!!
Great stay at El Paso Hilton
As members of a tour group, my husband and I enjoyed our stay at the El Paso Hilton very much: its clean, attractive rooms, its courteous staff, efficiently run dining facilities, and the lovely pool which is open till 10 pm! The location is perfect, close but separated from airport activities.
Hilton El Paso Airport is an Aweful Hotel
We stayed at this hotel the night after our late arriving flight into El Paso Airport. I would not stay at this hotel again. We reserved a 1 bedroom suite because out family wanted to stay in the same room together. The suite we received was dark and musty. There were spots on the walls and the carpets. The Continental Breakfast served as part of our room rate was absolutely disgusting. We also requested the use of the airport shuttle once - we waited 20 minutes for the shuttle to drive us despite the front desk's assurances that the shuttle would come immediately. I went into the back to look at the pool and exercise room - the pool was not maintained and the exercise room was a treadmill, a stair machine and a few free weights (disappointing).
Overall, I was very disappointed at the fact that we paid around $150 for an aweful room with aweful services - given the fact that a nicer Marriott is across the street and just as close to El Paso Airport, I would choose that hotel instead of this Hilton next time.
I stayed at this hotel for the same reason everyone else does, the airport is walkable and I had an early flight.
Though I did not have the experience of live insects as did other reviewers, I did find a few (large) roach carcasses in my room.
Everything about this hotel is run down. I've stayed in Motel 6s that have been luxurious when compared to the Hilton. At $130/night (which is quite expensive in El Paso) this hotel is a total rip off.
Great stay....for entymologists.
We stayed in room 1218 of the El Paso Hilton August 12 2003. We used the Hilton because it was a short walk to the air terminal. We had a 630 am flight, and had turned in our rental car a day early. We had been driving all day, and just wanted to get some rest. The first insect we found was an 1 1/2 inch long yellow COCKROACH. We gave him the boot and flushed it. Then upon opening the patio door (the carpet looked rotted by the sill) I found a spider web with three SPIDERS on it. Flush flush flush. We (my Wife and I) went to the pool. After a hot day it felt good, but as I swam up to my Wife, sitting on the edge of the pool, I saw little red ANTS crawling all along the poolside and her. I splashed the off her and we went back to the room. Later that night after dealing with an ineffective air conditioner that came on every 45 seconds after it turned off, I killed another BUG. I don't know what kind it was, but it was real small, and real fast, and running across the night stand. Flush. At about 900 pm the new shift desk manager called ans asked how things were. I told her we killed all the bugs, and the air conditioner didn't work. She asked if we wanted maintenance called and I said No, we were try to get some sleep before our 400am wake up call. She said okay and hung up. Thats when I saw the Last BUG of the day. Some sort of long black, slow moving BUG that looked like a pregnant ANT/BEETLE thing. Flush. All night long every itch, real or imagined had us checking the sheets. I can't tell enough people about this bad experience with Hilton Hotels. The nap on the Plane flight was very restful.
I only stayed here out of shear convenience but no more. I don't know how old this place is but the rooms all need renovating.I am a Gold Elite Member when I asked for a bottle of water she said that will be three dollars ,I said I always get a complimentary bottle when I check in, all the other Hiltons I've stayed in you get breakfast, your local calls are not charged, and you get the correct wake up call!! Just to say that I'll will never stay there again!! I don't care if they put a special side walk from the Airport...
On the morning after we got married, we found a "HUGE" cockroach in our bathroom sink. We took the creature to the front desk where we were told by the clerk that he was only "authorized" to give a credit $20 if something was wrong with the room. So I asked him to please document our conversation and have someone from the hotel contact us. They did and tried to give us only $50 credit we told them this was not acceptable and they were to call us back. The never do because they have "telephone" problems and can only call out every now and then. This happened on May 9th and the last call we received from them we still had no response from the "person" who is in charge of giving us a better credit. Stay elsewhere

After walking a long time i finally got to a bus station. The police sacred me so i ran to the bathroom. Met a guy who said he would take him to L.A. if I paid him. I left my money in the car. We went to get my money in the lot and the car was ...

Remembering what happened to the previous guy, before going inside I instructed myself not to fall in love. I wasn't hungry and thought I would order something light (didn't exist). As it turned out I had the full enchiladas. The, unassuming cantina had a good size bar, tables with gingham cloths (yes, they did it gangnam style), a pool table, signed/framed vinyl records on the wall ...
The day started out pretty normal, stiff and tired and trying to learn Spanish for "I'm Old" :) We ate rattlesnake for breakfast along with french toast, well some of us did anyway. It was a pretty small snake so it didnt really go that far. then off to work. So much to do and so little time Friday always seems to fly by. I helped Dani and Delaney spread some thinset for their threshold designs. I am ...
