After another typical Swedish breakfast we packed the bags into or trusty 'Blue' (a Toyota Auris, I think it's called a Yaris in the States) for the last time and headed towards Malmo (approximately 90 km.) It was a glorious sunny morning and Kristianstad definitely looked better than it had the night before! After we arrived in Malmo we filled the tank (approximately 400 SKr or $50...yikes, no wonder there are so many small cars here), and turned old Blue into the Avis across from the train ...
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark aldrichcWe stayed at the airport Hilton tonight and then we got a car and drove through Sweden to Gotenborg (where we drove directly into the town Sentrum, parked on the street for 10 minutes free, walked directly to the information office, got a couple of souvenirs and information that the Ethnographic Museum has been changed to another museum and they don't have the Chinchurro mummies from Chile on display, and left all in about 20 min). Then we drove on into Oslo.

... humid. I climbed to the top of the staircase and was at the same level as the top of the plants- it was even more hot and humid up here. My camera did not like the temperature and the lens fogged up. I didn't stay up there for long. We went into the other glasshouse rooms. Each room seemed to have a theme. It was then time for us to slowly make our way to the airport. I really enjoyed being back in Copenhagen and having more time to explore the city.
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark jcastellan... anyways, and since it is only a couple of hours, we decided that worse case scenario we would come back the same day on the train. Copenhagen is a beautiful place. It is set on the water, full of canals, buildings that are older than Australia... We has a great day, sunny and warm, and full of surprises. There are many squares and on one of the biggest they were setting up a very large stage. We saw a few 'gay' flags and didn't link what we saw with the lack of hotel ...
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark cpiotto... and on our way to the pier. I don't know what I was thinking, but there are no shots of us coming into view of the MV Eurodam or the pier area, but I will get some when we return on the 15th for the second sailing. Carol and Bob had left 4 messages by the time I turned my phone on just before leaving. Concerns about our tour plans in Oslo, and then Carol warning me to be patient. Apparently HAL (Holland America Line) didn't ...
Copenhagen, Denmark ohiolair... of Swedes are regular church attendees). We also toured an ancient university, 500 or 600 years old, that included a lecture hall that reminded every single one of us of Hogwarts School of Magic. Then to games in a fabulous gym, but only partial games to leave room for mixed-team games. Then to the best feast of the trip at a community hall that included pickled herring (only Davis Barrett took part), and speeches and gifts. Then home to great home ...
Copenhagen, Denmark scott.wilson.pt... days. From the moving windmills to trucks and boats and planes. They had at least one of everything you could ever imagine and sometimes even two. We then walked around the park and saw all the cool statues and monuments like Indian Jones, Skeletons, Vikings, Dragons and everything else. It almost seemed like everything was made of Lego. Thankfully the toilets were not made of Lego. We then went on a few rides. We got our asses kicked in the Firefighters Challenge. I guess having two ...
Copenhagen, Denmark beautiful_freak... are a number of Viking ships dug up from the Roskilde fiord (which is fairly shallow). These ships are in excellent condition considering their age and you are filled with admiration at the skills and the hardiness of these people. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to picture these ships sailing through the fiord. The Museum also has traditional boats from the last few centuries and you get a real feel for the dependence of the people in this area on the sea. Another ...
Copenhagen, Denmark everardt... by hippies and free spirits in 1971. It has now evolved into a kind of self-governing area. It is an interesting areas with well-kept old buildings and lots of green space. There are some unique shops there and, we were told, an open hash market on "pusher street." I had a good laugh on the way out of town as one has to pass under a sign that reads "You are now entering the EU." Tara here: Among other highlights, we managed to ...
