... US.

I somewhat regret not spending much time in these states but that gives me an excuse to come back for another trip.

Had good fun at Vivek's house. Lots of beer and good food, pasta and sausages.

Tomorrow at some point, I'll leave for somewhere in Tennessee. I haven't decided on the destinations yet. Maybe Nashville, maybe Asheville and surely ...

Safely in the ground in Costa Rica. And the adventure begins. I should have spent a little more time sharpening up on my Spanish growing up in Texas. So far the lyrics to La Bamba aren't getting me far but getting lots of smiles from the ...

Although I was primarily interested in the fashion/ bead-work, the art of the Ancient Americas was fascinating. I’ve never really been a student of this particular topic, but the intricacies of the designs and the skill in their production was remarkable. (Bear did you know Cusco was thought the ‘belly button’ of ...

Saturday evening was spent with Heidi and Steve, ex New Tribes missionaries. We met Heidi in the car park at Jaars while we were visiting the Alphabet museum there. They invited us to a family dinner which was wonderful. Kerrin had someone her own age to hang with - I'm told that 13 yr olds don't play!! They had a lodger who was into IT and games, so Tim slotted right in and was on one of his PC's in no time! It was ...

    Nice location good hotel

    from anonymous

This hotel is the preferred hotel company of my business unit within the Wachovia Corporation.

I stayed here for a week on business. Check in and Check out was prompt. Because I was at work most of the time I didn't get to use the pool and other amenities on the property. Rooms were clean and nicely furnished. Service was good. Valet parking was included per day. Location in the University Park area is good. 2 or 3 lights from I-85.

Not close to Downtown(Called Uptown Charlotte)

Good mix of restaurants in this general area. Nice shopping center is around the corner in walking distance. If you want breakfast in the morning it is cheaper to go to the restaurant rather than room service for the same food. The hotel does allow you to put a card on your door the night before with you breakfast order if you prefer to order without having to call downstairs. If you have early morning meetings they will bring your breakfast at 6 or 7 in the am. if you specify.

    Great Hotel

    from anonymous

Very friendly, helpful staff. Room was large, clean and well equipped. Out back is a lake surrounded by retail stores and a number of restaurants. Only complaint would be that the cable channel selection was very limited. I would stay at this hotel again in a minute when in the charlotte area.

    Would Stay Again!

    from anonymous

Nice Hotel! Clean and Comfy Bed! Only one suggestion, perhaps the TV should be in front of the bed, not at the side. But overall, great, would stay again.

    Great Restraunts

    from dsharrison

My wife had a conference at the Hilton. My 6 month old son and I decided to tag along. We were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel has several restaurants within walking distance such as Lava, Billy's Seafood, Cheddars, and many other restaurants. There is an outlet mall 10 min. drive away located off of I85 at exit #49" Concord Mills Mall ". The mall is on your left. It is indoors and has 100's of stores. There is a big Bass Pro Shop connected to the mall. The Hotel is very clean. The rooms are big. They do not have refrigerators in the rooms. The staff are very polite. You can take walks around the lake that is behind the Hotel. They even have a big outdoor play area for children. The Hotel is about 25 min. from the airport.

    Excellent location - okay hotel

    from Grossedouttraveler

The location of this hotel is great - the boardwalk provides the opportunity to walk to shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is mediocre at best. The bed in our room was so worn out that my husband woke up with back pain and the shower curtain smelled of mildew after a couple of minutes in the shower. We had also reserved a lake view room, but got a view of the parking lot.

Overall, a great location, the staff was nice enough, but the rooms need to be updated.

    Very Nice Hotel!!!

    from DizneyFan

We only stayed one night and recieved a fantastic rate via Priceline. Checking in was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. They offered us either a king or 2 doubles. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. Fluffy blankets and four feather pillows on each bed. The only thing that I would have liked would have been a refridg/ microwave...but no big deal. There was plenty of parking. We did not use their restaurant but their selection looked good. I would definatly recommend this hotel.

    EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE

    from luv2travel1stclass

Spend the extra and stay on the executive floor with FREE easy to use wireless, bath robe and bottled water along with the club lounge open from 6:30am - 10:00pm. Nice continental breakfast from 6:30am - 9:00am, Hor d'oeuvres from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and from 8:00pm - 10:00pm cookies. The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable, had clean crisp white bedding and lots of big pillows. The towels were all crisp white and the bath towels oversized. A great desk area to work with good lighting and well placed desk top plugs for laptop power cords etc. This is a really nice Hilton and a great value.

    Enjoyed my stay

    from SFnativeGal

Stayed here 2 nights on a leisure trip. Due to a late flight, did not end up arriving until well after midnight. However I was greeted and told I'd already been checked in and my key was ready...the entire transaction took less than 30 seconds, a nice surprise. Room was clean and adequate. Staff was agreeable. Nothing outstanding about this place, but nothing horrible either...in general a pleasant place to stay. My only complaint would be the quality of the room service food was below average considering the prices and the adjective-laden prose describing it on the menu.

    Weather was warm--Hotel staff cold!

    from pe4all

So-So service: Got such a great deal on priceline--hate to complain--however . . . just a few items that would have made out stay perfect. Phoned ahead to ask to verify room type but was told that we must wait until we arrived to request bed type and non-smoking--not much left after midnight! Asked housekeeping for extra pillows and towels--never arrived. Called front desk to add credit card so we could order room service--they said they couldn't take info over the phone. Funny though they could take credit card info over the phone if it is to hold a reservation!!! Rooms were small for this grade of hotel. Not many toilety items--no lotion, etc--only shampoo and soap. Good location and plenty of parking.

    Excellent Hotel

    from auntrose50

We just spent 3 nights at this hotel over the Memorial weekend. Check in was very fast and the rooms were very nice. They were large and very clean. The beds were comfortable and we had extra pillows. We did not eat in the dining room so I don't know anything about it. There are several places to eat near the hotel.
