Today we took a leisurely boat ride down the Rhine. We saw cologne from the water a very different perspective. After the boat ride we had lunch at a very good hamburger place. We then drove to a magnificent palace, Schloss breuhl. Beautiful gardens similar to Versailles on a much smaller scale. We then rushed home to watch the Germany USA game. Germany won but both teams advanced. After the game we walked to get out last really good gelato. Tomorrow we leave for ...
... to do a boat trip on the river Rhine. The boat trip would have been a complete waste of time (I couldn't hear the guide at all the man must have been whispering!) if it hadn't been a group of elderly pensioners! There were about 6-7 school friends doing a trip together and were so lovely and friendly. One of the guys spoke very good English, but I spoke to him in German. He and his friends gave me their own personal tour of Cologne, told me what I should visit ...
