Tuesday leaving Japan for China
We got up early today and took another bullet train to the Kansai Airport in Osaka. The airport is an island that the Japanese built. We checked our luggage and boarded a plane to Beijing China. Now we're in Beijing. As soon as the plane starts to descend we realize it's cloudy or is that the pollution people talk about? We step off the plane and …
Beijing - Great Wall, Ming Tomb, Sanlitun Bar St
OK- So I will be updating this day while Virginia rests from our adventure yesterday ;) The night we got here we were having some snacks and drinks upstairs and we met two couples from La Jolla CA who had just come from Shanghai. They were really nice and after talking with them for a while they invited us to share a guide and go to the Great Wall …
Beijing - The Forbidden City
This morning didn't go exactly as planned. At 8:30 we heard a knock on our door and it woke us. By the time John got to the door no one was there. It was probably Jeff or Andrea b/c we thought we'd go with them to the Forbidden City and Silk Market today, but with the late night we had we crawled back into bed. Around 9:30 we went up for breakfast …
Last day in Beijing
It's our last day in Beijing and can I say LET THE SHOPPING BEGIN! We haven't done much shopping here just alot of sightseeing. Today we went to the silk market with Jeff and Andrea hoping to find some great deals on silk, pearls and knockoffs. We were told what to expect with the negotiating and haggling but we didn't realize what we were in for. …

Thanks to a free ride with Jason from the hostel, we made it to the train station in good time just as boarding started. This cabin was even better then the last; no TV screens, but cleaner and newer. Unfortunately we discovered that we were sharing a carriage with some rather noisy Chinese passengers, but they settled down soon after leaving Xi'an …

Check In
I had requested for a Limousine service from the hotel to pick me up as i was arriving from shanghai. I came out from the domestic arrival hall at Area C but was unable to find the person carrying my name. I walked over to area B and A to see if anyone was there but sadly nobody was found carrying my name. Feeling a bit frustrated and tired from my shanghai trip, i called the hotel using my mobile and the conversation with the conceige was quite bad but it took about 5 mins for us to understand each other.
In the end, they told me to look for someone in Black (and almost everyone was in black), i walked up and down (with my luggage) from Area A to B to C and back to B and finally i saw the lady carrying the Hilton WangfuJing sign with my name. She then told me she was at the ATM (Like seriously?). So she took my trolley and we proceeded down to the car park area where i had to wait another 5 Mins for the driver to arrive as he parked in another area. Finally, my ride came and the driver came out (He sure wasnt friendly nor was he in any good mood). He just put my luggage in the car and i bit the lady goodbye and i was off to the hotel. In the car, it was total dead silence and i don even dare to start any conversation. There was only mineral water and NO Hot Towels were offered. (Not like Hilton Shanghai).
The ride took about 45 Mins with some minor jams along the way. Finally arrived at the hotel, and the building was situated behind Macau Center. If i was to travel alone by taking the train, i think i will surely be lost! Anyway, the doorman opened the door and i entered the lobby. The lobby was small but grand and it felt like a home rather than a lobby. Being a Hilton Honour Gold, i was checked in at the executive lounge. The lounge was big and nice PLUS the decor of the lounge was very nice. I was told that i had been upgraded (since i was just staying for one night only) and was given to room number 1219.
Rating: 7/10 (Due to limousine service)
Room
As i was given room 1219, i realized it was a corner room which could either mean a suite or a bigger room. As i opened the door, i almost died .... it was BIG and LONG. I was greeted with a long entrance foyer followed by a huge bathroom and then the bedroom. Now let's start with the toilet. It has a seperate bathtub with a TV and shower area. The toiletries are the same as Hilton Shanghai ... Peter Thomas. I actually liking this brand a lot now. The design of the toilet is very good. It is an open-concept toilet (which is very common in most modern hotels) as it gives the room more space. The lighting ard the toilet is bright and sufficient plus the Shower area has a double shower head that can either be used as massage or normal showering, Like i said, the bathtub is facing a small TV which you can watch while soaking in the huge bathtub!
The Bed was a King size bed that faced a 42" LCD TV. The bed was very big and comfortable to sleep on! The Mini bar is what strike me the most ... the design of it is very interesting. The lighting of the room was sufficient and the sound system from the TV was great. At the tiny corner is my working desk which had a printer with it plus with a tiny balcony. Sadly i didnt use the balcony as it was freezing! Overall, im very impressed with the room

Service
Service wise was great well accept the limousin service. Other than that, everything was amazing from the door man to the checkin to the breakfast area

Others
Breakfast on the 5th floor was amazing! i like how they use the wine glasses as their lightings. The breakfast food was amazing and i like how they displayed their cold cuts and salad on a long chopping board. As for the taste of the breakfast food, i think it was great! The decor of the breakfast area was good with the Sunlight coming into the area thus giving a nice warm atmosphere. Overall, i think Hilton WFJ Beijing is a good business hotel rather for leisure.
