The guy asked me why I was standing where I was and then with a big wink told me not to do it again. I promised I wouldn't. We drove to Abu Dhabi at high speed, apparently 20km over the speed limit is the done thing. Also swearing and getting annoyed at other ...

GR: This morning we left Gatwick on our first major flight. Flying with Emirates, I watched About Time, Captain Phillips and half of Brave before dozing off. Unfortunately I didn't sleep through the meal which, for me anyway, was less than satisfactory!

We arrived safely in Dubai where we were met by my Aunt and Uncle who kindly drove us back to their apartment in Abu Dhabi where we will spend the next few days. We are just settling down after ...
