... we were first to get service. By noon we were on the road again.

The down time gave us a chance to take the drive from Provo to Heber City via the Alpine Loop.
The next day we went from alpine trees to desert. We drove the Desert Ramble loop. It took us around Tooele Army Depot. I wanted to go to a PX so I drove up to the ...

... zone. Whoops. The trooper comes to the passenger side window, startling Les who thought he was coming to my side. I quickly state my case that I thought I was in a 65, trooper proceeds to lecture me that I have to pay attention. He wants to know how I missed the 65 zone and truthfully I don't know, most times I see the speed corridors and reduce my speed to an acceptable level. I state that I may have been changing lanes, which Linda finds to be a ...

... did yesterday and go see another movie. This time it was 'Wolverine' and I must say it was pretty disappointing. I'm not massively into comics but I know enough about the X-Men franchise to realise that many fans will be sorely unimpressed by this weak addition. After the movie was over, we had some time to kill so we had a good look around a gadget store (with massage chairs) and a ...

A little unsure of what kind of concert an older man and his wife would be attending and also of the plans I may have had for the evening of the next day, I tried to leave it open with a hint of indecisiveness. ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hilton Salt Lake City Airport

    Airport Hilton is great

    from

Located very close to the airport, but was soundproof - the only time I heard planes was if I opened the door to my balcony. Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs - outdoor tub was actually hot, indoor tub was not. If you have access to concierge lounge - this really makes the stay great - awesome morning and evening food and very friendly staff. The decor is a little (maybe quite - I'm not that picky about it) outdated, but overall this is a great place. Free Interntet access!

    Very pleasant stay

    from

We located this motel through a coupon flyer at a rest stop in Idaho, were able to call and book our room for that evening. The rate was 54.00 for one night.

Good Hotel for What It Is...Close to Airport

    from

Just got back from 1 night at the hotel. The hotel is about a 8 minute shuttle ride (Free Hilton shuttle) from the airport. We were pleased with the free shuttle and proximity to the airport. There is internet access in the rooms although $8/day. This seemed excessive as I noticed that other hotels nearby were advertising free internet/WiFi access.

    Just right

    from

Nice bed and clean. Indoor pool and jacuzzi. Restaurant was fine considering I did not want to go into town to eat. Quiet. Good location if you need to make an early flight. Friendly staff.

    Very nice stay...twice

    from

We stayed here the first and last nights of a week long trip to Utah. The airport location was perfect for us arriving and departing. The shuttle was a terrific convenience.

We were there both times on a Friday night and the concierge lounge was closed. I'm a Hilton Diamond member, so we received coupons for drinks and appetizers we could use in the lounge. On both mornings we had breakfast in the restaurant, and were entirely satisfied (and stuffed) with the meals.

Hilton's bedding is like sleeping in the clouds. We love their feather beds and comfy pillows and slept well both nights. The bathroom facilities were excellent. I can heartily recommend this hotel.

    Avoid during Winter

    from

I stayed there in November (a few days ago) ... The first room I got was extremely warm (81 degrees) but they do not operate their air conditioning system between October and March ... front desk said they could not do anything about it ... and then offered me a fan to make it comfortable! I asked why I could not turn the AC on ... and was told that the building is designed to conserve energy ... no heat during summer and no AC during winter ... except this November the outside temperature was sunny 75 ... and there was no way to cool the room.

Great for Dogs and people too!!

    from

As a front desk cleark at a Major Las Vegas Strip Hotel, my expectations were pretty high. I was expecting what i would from a Hilton property. The frontdesk staff was efficient and friendly, the lake around the property worked wonders for walking my dogs. The room was spacious and accomodating. Coffee shop was a tid bit too pricey for the quality. Overall A+. Anybody with a dog would love it.

    Rocky Mountain High

    from

Stayed nights of 03/15 03/16 2005. Was on business to be conducted at hotel. Hotel lobby area was undergoing renovations. Indoor pool was closed and resatuarant was open, but under construction. Got a good rate on Hilton's internet site of $112. per night (on executive level - included continental breakfast and executive lounge cocktails in evening). Hostesses of executive lounge were very nice. Enjoyed featherbed mattresses. Like other review stated, hotel seemed slightly dated. Restaurant food was good and staff was helpful. Nice workout room. Nice outdoor walking area expect for duck and goose poop on trail. I rated this an average as I have higher expectations for a Hilton. I would say it was below average for a Hilton. Nevertheless, I would stay there again if conducting business in SLC. Renovations, may well update facility.

    Very nice airport hotel

    from

As with most airport hotels... this hotel is not very lavish. However, it is very comfortable. Large rooms, a friendly staff, and a very nice bar and restaurant make this perfect for a airport stopover or a short ski trip. I got an outstanding 57.00 aaa room rate for 2 nights... for a hilton you cant beat that. I found the service to be very professional and attentive, a rarity these days for anyting less then 100.00 a night. I highly rec this hotel even for those who are on a short ski trip.. and dont want to pay 250.00 a night for lodging on the resort.

Nice, rooms are a bit dated

    from

About a 7-8 minute drive to the terminals, shuttle runs every 20 minutes. Hotel was nicer than I expected, with two pools, one outdoor and one indoor, 2 hot tubs, a nice exercise room, a putting green and a walking/running track around the lake.

Rooms were a little on the "old and dated" side of things, but everything worked and the bed was comfy. Could hear a little TV through the walls early in the evening.

Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. I had the "Fajita salad" and it was fantastic, could only eat half of it.
