We have meandered today. Day of relaxing really. Tootled around the Main Street pottering in the shops. An afternoon stroll and then a leisurely drive up through the hills to the ski resorts. Stunning scenery. Fall is just beginning, the trees are starting to turn. The sun is out and the light wind is bringing an autumnal chill. ...
... Pretty much all the pics of SLC are of the concert, but that's cause there's nothing else! Left the gig around 11 on Saturday night to discover no transport available so had to walk about 6 miles back, where it took about 2 hours just to find a fast food place open (can always rely on the Mexicans!) Again got lost, so don't think arrived back at the house til about 3am - one thing I had noticed on the walk back was a lot of strip clubs which I thought weird for the place ...

The ongoing ride was very boring with little along the way to hold your attention on the way to Salt Lake city. The temperatures were climbing so we had to search around to find lunch. We did a slight detour at a place called Fort Cove, so thinking it ...
... You could see the salt flats. You could see all around from this viewpoint.. The mountains were reflected in the water. The sunset was beautiful even though there were clouds. The view by the Marina was nice but there were too many flies to get out of the car. As we drove back from the marina on the causeway at least a thousand flies met their end on our windshield, hood and mirror. There were so many hitting the window that it looked like it was ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hilton Salt Lake City Airport
Airport Hilton is great
Located very close to the airport, but was soundproof - the only time I heard planes was if I opened the door to my balcony. Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs - outdoor tub was actually hot, indoor tub was not. If you have access to concierge lounge - this really makes the stay great - awesome morning and evening food and very friendly staff. The decor is a little (maybe quite - I'm not that picky about it) outdated, but overall this is a great place. Free Interntet access!
We located this motel through a coupon flyer at a rest stop in Idaho, were able to call and book our room for that evening. The rate was 54.00 for one night.
Just got back from 1 night at the hotel. The hotel is about a 8 minute shuttle ride (Free Hilton shuttle) from the airport. We were pleased with the free shuttle and proximity to the airport. There is internet access in the rooms although $8/day. This seemed excessive as I noticed that other hotels nearby were advertising free internet/WiFi access.
Nice bed and clean. Indoor pool and jacuzzi. Restaurant was fine considering I did not want to go into town to eat. Quiet. Good location if you need to make an early flight. Friendly staff.
Very nice stay...twice
We stayed here the first and last nights of a week long trip to Utah. The airport location was perfect for us arriving and departing. The shuttle was a terrific convenience.
We were there both times on a Friday night and the concierge lounge was closed. I'm a Hilton Diamond member, so we received coupons for drinks and appetizers we could use in the lounge. On both mornings we had breakfast in the restaurant, and were entirely satisfied (and stuffed) with the meals.
Hilton's bedding is like sleeping in the clouds. We love their feather beds and comfy pillows and slept well both nights. The bathroom facilities were excellent. I can heartily recommend this hotel.
I stayed there in November (a few days ago) ... The first room I got was extremely warm (81 degrees) but they do not operate their air conditioning system between October and March ... front desk said they could not do anything about it ... and then offered me a fan to make it comfortable! I asked why I could not turn the AC on ... and was told that the building is designed to conserve energy ... no heat during summer and no AC during winter ... except this November the outside temperature was sunny 75 ... and there was no way to cool the room.
Great for Dogs and people too!!
As a front desk cleark at a Major Las Vegas Strip Hotel, my expectations were pretty high. I was expecting what i would from a Hilton property. The frontdesk staff was efficient and friendly, the lake around the property worked wonders for walking my dogs. The room was spacious and accomodating. Coffee shop was a tid bit too pricey for the quality. Overall A+. Anybody with a dog would love it.
Stayed nights of 03/15 03/16 2005. Was on business to be conducted at hotel. Hotel lobby area was undergoing renovations. Indoor pool was closed and resatuarant was open, but under construction. Got a good rate on Hilton's internet site of $112. per night (on executive level - included continental breakfast and executive lounge cocktails in evening). Hostesses of executive lounge were very nice. Enjoyed featherbed mattresses. Like other review stated, hotel seemed slightly dated. Restaurant food was good and staff was helpful. Nice workout room. Nice outdoor walking area expect for duck and goose poop on trail. I rated this an average as I have higher expectations for a Hilton. I would say it was below average for a Hilton. Nevertheless, I would stay there again if conducting business in SLC. Renovations, may well update facility.
Very nice airport hotel
As with most airport hotels... this hotel is not very lavish. However, it is very comfortable. Large rooms, a friendly staff, and a very nice bar and restaurant make this perfect for a airport stopover or a short ski trip. I got an outstanding 57.00 aaa room rate for 2 nights... for a hilton you cant beat that. I found the service to be very professional and attentive, a rarity these days for anyting less then 100.00 a night. I highly rec this hotel even for those who are on a short ski trip.. and dont want to pay 250.00 a night for lodging on the resort.
Nice, rooms are a bit dated
About a 7-8 minute drive to the terminals, shuttle runs every 20 minutes. Hotel was nicer than I expected, with two pools, one outdoor and one indoor, 2 hot tubs, a nice exercise room, a putting green and a walking/running track around the lake.
Rooms were a little on the "old and dated" side of things, but everything worked and the bed was comfy. Could hear a little TV through the walls early in the evening.
Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. I had the "Fajita salad" and it was fantastic, could only eat half of it.
