Historical Traveler Reviews of Hilton Airport Dublin
A home away from home in Dublin!

We had a business conference last October and this hotel was chosen to host all conference attendees. Everyone raved about the type of service and comfort each room provides in this hotel. 15mins from the airport, this hotel employs friendly and accommodating - you'll see everyone ready to answer questions or help out in any way. With a smile! Overall - amenities are modern and rooms are very very clean! You'll be sure to have a good sound sleep after a day's work.
Tesco's across the street and open 24 hrs for a quick grocery trip. I just wish there are more restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Buffet breakfast is good.
I definitely recommend it and will personally return back to this hotel in my next visit to Ireland.
Excellent hotel

i travel a lot with work and have stayed at this hotel 4 times already this month.compared to the other hotels close by i have to say that the hilton is miles better.the rooms are large and modern, staff are very helpful especially the courtesy drivers to and from the airport.nice bar and the room service food is excellent which for me was a very pleasant surprise.dublin airport has needed a stayover hotel like this for years and at last they have got one.
Very nice room

After a long haul to Heathrow and Dublin connection with my wife and 6 month old daughter. We hired a car and drove to the hotel with directions from the women at the Avis rental desk, about 10 min and easy to find.
The hotel has an underground carpark with lift to reception,we were in our room within 10 min.The room was a junior suite, excellent for the price and the hotel had the baby crib in place as requested.
We ordered food from the room service menu, it took about 30 min and was fine. We got the baby to sleep and relaxed before bed, the room a/c controls are very unreliable and off to bed we went.
The next morning we got ready for our long drive to Donegal, not much of a view but its surprisingly quite being so close to a major intersection.
Checked out and the staff could not have been more helpful. Excellent, very relaxing.
ps. We also stayed in the hotel before flying home.
Very Disapointing
from Gracie205
I was very disapointed. Being a Hilton, I expected better but really it's an average 3 star in my opinion. It's new, which is about the only thing going for it. The rooms are small, very hot and our window didn't open at all. The staff are clueless - any questions I asked were greeted with blank stares. We ate once in the bar and the food was just average and ridiculously over priced. Not recommeded.
Fantastic!!! Can't beat this hotel!!!

I couldn't have been happier with my stay at the Dublin Airport Hilton! The rooms were large, beautiful, and comfortable. The cadillac of hairdryers is provided -- don't bother packing yours! We were there for a relaxing weekend away but were concerned about the location being too far from the city. However, there is a bus stop just across the street from the hotel that brings you into the city center for 1.50 per person and you're downtown in 15 minutes. The airport shuttle was also great. The shuttle comes every hour and a phone call to the concierge prior to arrival ensures the driver is looking for you at the airport (concierge also gives detailed directions to find the shutte). On check-in, the receptionist books your return shuttle so all is taken care of. One thing to consider is breakfast -- if you think you want the hot buffet, you're much better off booking your room with breakfast included as the breakfast is 19 euros per person when purchased separately. Bottom line: Gorgeous hotel, fine location (many hotels in the city were located in very shady neighborhoods), and the price was unbeatable!!!
Good hotel but

The Hilton Dublin Airport is certainly a good hotel. It is only recently opened and therefore is modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room pretty large. There is a nice open resturant and bar. Breakfast is good with Irish fry ups or a continental style breakfast available. There are a couple of things about it that annoyed me though. First you have to pay extra for parking in the underground car park. Ok its only 5 euros per night but when you are paying for a room I dont think it is too much for parking to be provided free, especially as the hotel is not really near anything else so a car is particularly useful when satying here. Also the hotel isnt particularly near the airport. It would be closer to the city centre than the airport.
Great for business, bad location for tourists
from Sweep
I stayed at the Dublin Airport Hilton following a business trip, i had an early flight out the next morning. The hotel is brand new and this is clear to see, the beds have hardly been slept in and the bathrooms hardly used. It's extremely clean. The decor is plain, stylish, minimal and low key. I didn't arrive until late so didn't order room service or use any facilities so i can't comment on that. However when my plane landed at 09:00 a.m. they let me check in straight away no questions asked. OK so they weren't busy but still, they were very accommdating. Front desk staff are helpful and friendly - as is the Irish way!
The only downside is location, you are on a busy intersection/junction - local friends told me that it is a really rough area with lots of community housing. I didn't see any problems but there is no where to walk about outside if you wanted to. The view is pretty depressing - my room faced a large super-store. Also, it is not in the airport complex but a good 15 minute ride away. i used the Hilton shuttle which was fine but traffic is bad - their driver knows a great back route though. It takes about 15 mins to get into the city centre - longer during the day when traffic is bad. i wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are on a city break, although it is good value the location is not right for this. This is definitely a business travel hotel - and for that it is great.
Update
from irl1981
I previously posted a review for a stay that i had taken just 5 days after the hotel opened and i wanted to post another topic to confirm that my few worries about the hotels service were definately taken care of this time. The hotel have gotten over all teething problems and i must say it is a great hotel by any standards. I would have no hesitation staying here, even if i didnt need to be close to the airport. Its about 15 mins by car to the centre of town (via malahide rd). As a HHonors Gold i was automatically upgraded to a Deluxe room.
Good Value

New hotel with Hilton standards and good value. Traveled with two children 9 and 16 and used one family room (including excellent breakfast) and ended up very similiar in price to a local B & B. Caddy-corner is a new small mall with some fast food (children) and Tesco supermarket. Underground parking is 5 Euro and although it is called Hilton "Airport" it is not that close but about 15 minute drive and half the distance to downtown Dublin. Good value, pleasant staff and am happy to recommend.
Loved the Hilton Dublin airport

We used this hotel as our base for a Dublin break & it was excellent. We had 2 children with us 6 & 3 and the hotel's family rooms were excellent. King size bed for us & generous singles for the kids. Our rate included breakfast & dinner - both of which were top rate & great choice. Staff very friendly, polite & knowledgable. Bed was the most comfortable i've every slept in!! Shuttle to & from airport. We drove into Dublin (apx 20 mins) for signtseeing.
