... floral shop, Strawberry Fields, for tea towel and candle purchases. Heading to the west end of Richmond, we stopped for lunch at The Continental. The menu offered several sandwich and pizza options. It was good and I loved the inflatable globe/lantern ceiling decor. While we shopped, Buddy took the Harley for a check-up and met a friend for lunch on the southside of Richmond.

It was still a long drive to Richmond but we made it in time for Jess to serve delicious ziti with meatballs and a salad. Emily, my daughter, came over to visit and we got to see our four-legged baby, who vacationed for the summer with Scott and Jess. It was a good ...

... an inventor, scholar, mathematician, and president. His plantation was really interesting, we went on a house tour as well as a slavery tour, and learnt a lot about life at Monticello, and the lives of the slaves. It's really an odd duality that the man that drafted the Declaration of Independence as the country bid for freedom, also kept over 600 slaves in his lifetime. Also interesting that he probably fathered a few children with one of them. On the way out of the compound, we saw ...

      ... days or so.

Got up early Sunday morning to go to church to give praises to God for our safe journey. (Three weeks Friday) Attended Mass at Saint Gabriel church. Father Patrick Henry
gave a great sermon. A message of forgiveness and healing. Also, a great message on the unborn and the elderly. How would you react if we saw God's face in these faces?

      After church we ...
