    ... Looked in souvenir and trinket shops and enjoyed the brilliant Hot Rods that were parked all down Beale Street. Had a lovely time. The only poignant aspect was that Beale Street was the scene of many Civil Rights marches during the 50's and 60's, and Dr. Martin Luther King was shot and killed only a few streets away from where we were.
