From DC I'll go to London, then after a 13 hr layover I'll head to Johannesburg and finally I take a small flight to Gaborone, my final destination. At the University of Botswana, I'll be studying public health with my classes focusing on the issues in Botswana and I'll also be taking a ...

We had a specific reason for getting there early (more on that later). It is a very easy walk to the terminal. Just keep walking towards the big boat in front of you! It is a bit congested in front of the terminal with a few remaining passengers from the last cruise waiting on pick-up transportation and those ...

Hamjambo! Well I have officially begun my trip! I am sitting at the airport and now have a couple of hours to just relax and people watch... two of my favorite things! As I'm sitting here in the international terminal I can really feel the enormity of my trip beginning. I am excited for so many things: to meet the people I will be living with for the next month (who I will get to meet once I get ro Amsterdam), to see the village I'll ...
