It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was sparkling but very cold. The trip was just over 2 hours and there were some very calm spots interrupted by some rapids which provided the fun! Bill was very experienced and caught most of the currents. The other four had paddles while Fletcher and I bludged. Occasionally the call came to paddle forward and they responded with gusto. ... we approached Oregon, there were more and more logging trucks hauling huge logs -we think they're cedar. Some logs were 4ft in diameter and most trucks could only haul 3 of them.
We stayed at the Premier RV Resort in Coburg (just north of Eugene, OR). Although a very nice facility, we had serious problems with their power supply - the 50amp plug surged power and the 30amp plug kept blowing the fuse. Nobody came to check, ...
... in honor of Andy and Urs Johnson (Andy grew up near here). We also watched Oregon slaughter Tennessee while Michigan and Michigan State were winning and Penn State was losing.
Tomorrow we want to see Sacramento and the state house to add to our list. We
don't know if Yosemite will draw us back for another day, or we'll go on
to Sequoia, but that's the next day. Nice to be flexible.
Getting close to the Carlsbad Feros!!!!!
... St. Marlon ate rabbit and pork leg (their specialty....why does he do this to me?), and I ate salad and tilapia dumplings. It was very tasty. They have a nice house punch as well. Afterwards we walked over a river in search for a bar that turned out to be a restaurant so we came back to the Campbell house and hung out in the library with some wine.

... she has stayed there for other reasons before, but never this long. I'm afraid she will forget about me. I've uploaded some pictures of her and I. We have ran a 5k together, and run often outside. She is just as athletic and in love with the outdoors as I am.
I'm pretty nervous about the trip, I think my fears are real basic ones like, I don't want to get lost, or have my things stolen, or ...
