I wish we could have stayed longer. Great hotel. Great location.

Today, Monday, we visited the delta where all the murky land water is entering the sea.As dirty as it is it gives a lovely view.

Other contrasts here, one will often seen people digging in the trash for any leftovers, and at the same time there are those who drives big-ass (excuse my language) Chrysler's and Chevrolet Camaro's. Although I grew up in Zambia it is still strange to see this contrast.

The security at the hotel is more than we would expect in New Zealand. The gate was closed until Emma said we had a reservation. Before we would enter the building, all our hand luggage and case went through a scanner (Emma says they are looking for alcohol). Emma had been asked if we would like, for 75JD extra, have an executive suite. She said no thanks, then the next thing we knew, we were being given an executive suite gratis! Suits us. We ...

Since there wasn't we ended up in town much earlier that expected. So we spent the next hour sitting outside, surfing the web, watching the cats, and waiting for check in. Our bags were too heavy to be ...

After the drama and excitement of yesterday it appears that this will be our final pirate report. It seems we have successfully navigated the high risk pirate seas without attracting any unwanted attention, or collecting any unwanted guests. The downside of this is that the captain has said all the outside lights can be switched back on the ship, which pretty much puts pay to any stargazing of an evening. But ...

High 30's and not a cloud in the sky. We've got lots of water, sunscreen and hats, so off we go for the two hour drive to Petra. It's then a three to four kilometre walk into the site...all downhill. Easy! Of course we have to come back up later so that's a worry. We are both a bit fragile...blocked sinuses, coughing and blocked ears that won't pop ( that started as soon as the bus climbed, out of Aqaba) and Mike also has ...
