4 stars.
Conveniently located across from Gare Central. 2-3 minute walk to Grand Place/Mannekin Pis and a touristy area with restaurants, markets, chocolate shops, beer stores, galleries, etc. Room was very large, even for American standards. Room faced SW, could see top of Hotel de Ville. Business center with internet, concierge (did not use), Front desk was helpful, gave a detailed map and some helpful suggestions. Requested an early checkin and room was ready (at noon). Bathroom was a little odd with no wall between shower and rest of bathroom. Chose to forgo housekeeping. Amenities were a touch overpriced for our taste but reasonable for this hotel. Outside was a bit shady due to proximity to the train station.

... rustic items used for ancient brewing were on display...boring. The second room was of the modern day brewing which involved two massive silver enclosed tubs, a documentary, two cylinders swishing liquid around and rave music....still boring. Lucky at the end there was a free beer included one dark and one light which definitely made it worthwhile as both were quiet nice.Starting to get a bit hungry we stuck in to a massive feast in another restaurant that reminds me of the ...

... into Belgium. We got in and found our hostels right next to the Godiva factory. We were off to a pretty good start! We got settled then took the metro into the center. We found the Royal Palace which was very impressive. Then we nada nice walk through the Parc du Bruxelles. There wasn't a whole lot o other people around so we figured we had pretty much seem Brussels in an hour, then I saw what looked like a church steeple so we decided to wander ...

... And the waffles are to die for! The city of the city is called the Grand Place and is this huge square with stunning buildings, most notably the "city hall" building (pictured here!)
There are also chocolate shops everywhere, even more than Switzerland. And there is lots of beer! We went to a really well known bar called Delirium that has over 2000 beers and it was packed with people. We ended ...
