Today we started our journey to the states. For Damian it's his eighth visit to LA and my second. But a first for us together. We woke early and finished packing our final luggage making sure passport and cash was in hand before being collected by our chariot to the airport. We ordered a wagon and got a bus. Just a little funny. Nothing like over doing it. It was a little strange leaving as we really haven't had the best lead up or countdown to the trip. We were both excited ...

... awesome. The combination was a lot easier to pick up as I knew the song, loved the combination and it was lyrical. There's was lots of time to dance as well, we did five groups and at the end some combined groups, and she went like twenty minutes over as there was no class after hers in this studio. ... for Auckland. We had already been up for 18 hours, so sleeping shouldn’t be an issue.

We were in 58A and B which wasn’t that far back but the seating area was smaller than what we had just enjoyed. I’d forgotten how smaller an area you have to anything. All you can really do is sleep…and after a really nice beef curry, and a couple of C******nays I did and so did Karly for most of the flight.

... It is unbelievable the houses that sit along this road, hanging off the cliffs with some of the front gates or garages just barely off the road and at night it would be harrowing with no street lights. We did stop at a few overlooks and the views were spectacular of the downtown area and canyon below. We didn't go the entire way as we decided to get off at one of the canyon roads and head to Griffith Park.

We drove down Ventura Blvd where parts of it reminded me of ...

... Big Sur as our next stop we hit the raid, however the weather was not on our side. Around an hour in we noticed a vista point for Elephant seals and pulled in, I was amazed they were enormous and hundreds of them just chilling on the beach (photo included) the smell was not so fun though! Back on the road we continued towards the Big Sur however the rain then decided to show its face and within half an hour it was thrashing it down on the car. The road was beyond what you would call ...
