... that back at Christmas, Mom and Dad had given the kids five euros each, and I had put the money in my wallet. I very quietly whispered to the kids, "I'll pay you back", and announced to the officer and his companion that we had ten euros. Would that be enough? A few seconds later, the men decided that yes, that would be acceptable. So, a fee that was supposed to be sixty euros was now reduced to ten. We knew that this was not a legitimate fee, but it ...

Off to Morskie Oko today (once we finally dragged ourselves out of bed!). Morskie Oko is a lake in the middle of apt he Tatras mountains and national park. We had to catch a bus from zakopane 40 minutes out of town and then it took two hours to walk there and two hours to walk back. It was half price entry with our student cards (2.50 zloty each- €1 all up) and slightly inclined on the way there. It was 9km each way. As we started walking we could see more and more snow we ...

We went off to the Anne frank house today which is about a diary a little girl wrote when they went into hiding during the Second World War. They were hiding from the Germans who were taking hostage of all the Jews and sending them off to concentration camps once found. It was a really good museum with a horrible story. After the tour we wondered through the city if canals and walked through Vondel park and ...

A travel blog entry by whelan_89 on Dec 03, 2014

Up early today as we have so much site seeing to do!!! We decide to walk most of it as from our hostel we were only 5km to the Eiffel Tower but there were lots of things to see along the way. We pinched some rolls from brekky with butter and jam so we ate those along the way for lunch (we weren't very excited for them but they turned out to be delicious!!!) We started off toward the catacombs which we waited in line for for about an hour (they only let 200 people in at a time) it ...

... also pretty cheap at about €8 per bag! Disneyland is so pretty I could just wonder around it for hours! I think jason was expecting more crazy rides etc however it is a park for kids and not for the big kids! We lined up for an hour and met mickey mouse which was cool and I loved doing the "it's a small world" boat ride which I had done with mum and dad in Disneyland Tokyo- it's such a beautiful ride! We did a few ...
