... this thought that I should turn on a light, but why, I know my way around the bed. Well, I was wrong! There is an old wooden sea chest at the end of the bed. It is full of Phil’s ‘treasures’ and it is so heavy we have to carefully slide it – yeah, the one that made the gouges in the floor. Well I hit it full force, losing my balance and falling into it with my upper legs before rolling off and hitting the floor with my wrist ...

... as cotton candy! It finally set just before Phoenix. We landed and James was waiting at the door for me. We collected my luggage and out the door to our ride-and as we approached a van was ready to leave and I waved to them, he waited and turned out that was the van we needed to be on. ... By 7:30 decided to stop for the night at Coalinga—but tried all the motels and NO vacancies anywhere. Stopped at the next several towns and none and final at Delano and found one. By now it is 9:30 pm and 14 hours since this morning! Also over 700 miles!! I am tired and ready for bed, and did not take long before I was sleeping. It was 99 degrees around Sacramento, in the nineties the rest of the day and way.

... here in 1951. It is all original plus lots of cute things from the past-hard to do with as little space as they have. Run by a gal, rarely there, and her brother Roberto, aka Junior, a great young kid. They have had it for 8 years. The cook, a Mexican, was fantastic. His full plates looked like gourmet and tasted good. This was a great way to start a day and I want to come back often! From there into town to check out how to get to the Commonwealth Hotel where ...
