    ... thinking of the Pioneers travelling across it and what hardships they must have endured. What was amazing to us was the people who speed through the park, barely taking in the sights. I mean, not only is it truly spectacular, but you have to pay $15 to enter the park!

    ... The following morning, after a filling breakfast, we rode through the Badlands. It was magical! Such a beautiful place. We spent a few hours pedaling, going up and down very steep hills and enjoying the view. Then we got to Wall, a very touristy town where we met a fellow cyclist who left from Cleveland, Ohio and was headed to Vancouver, then going south towards Mexico along the coast to then head east again to Florida...     ... days riding in 30+C it was definitely overdue!). Wall Drug is really a huge shopping mall in a tiny town. It was established in 1931 and through massive self-promotion ... and believe it or not, the offer of free ice water, it has become a famous stopping point for tourists, with over 2 million visitors a year.
