... bit. The waves were small and average but we had a great time playing around with the boards... Until Vicky's board decided to smack her in the leg fin first and write off her time in the water. After setting her up on the beach with a block of ice to take down the swelling, I went back into the water for a little while longer. A (mainly!) lovely chilled afternoon, followed by dinner before heading off to catch our night train to Goa, via the state's capital, ...
... which took us to an empty beach next to a fishing village which stretched for miles and also has a lake running parallel to the beach, beautiful find, and so surprising that there were no tourists in sight, a great thing about exploring in India!
The staff at out accommodation were really friendly and did a great job (well except when they bought us milky tea instead of mint tea after asking twice ...
... shortbread and ice cream with apple sauce, but they had neither :(
Next we visited the Natural history museum which has hundreds of animals and birds, dead and stuffed, along with a great skeleton collection. Our highlight was the elephant skeleton ( they had placed a hollow mould of the elephant foot skin next to it too.) and the lower jaw bone of a fin whale. it was ginormous!
Unfortunately I had a mosquito bite my ankle whilst eating our final breakfast ...
... on Varkala cliff just 5 mins down the road. Perfect :) Feel like its been a holiday in our holiday :)
Valentines day arrived and was lovely sat round the pool with my husband and then in the evening we had dinner and a few beers. Its bizarre here as they serve the beer bottles wrapped in newspaper, then pour the beer into big pot tankards and then take the bottle away. On the bill it is marked as "pop". I think it is an attempt at being discreet but ...
