San Antonio
That was a very long and tiring drive from El Paso to San Antonio. Started at 2:30 in the afternoon and reached after midnight. Most of the driving was in the dark and I felt like I am out of touch with driving at night. At one point, I saw two huge flying trucks !! While I was still blinking my eyes and thinking maybe we have finally arrived at the promised ...

Day Fifteen - Texas Cowboy Country
... are few and far between. I checked into the hotel in Alpine, in the Big Bend area, and went to the local saloon for dinner. Heading back to the hotel I took a short cut through a grassy area. The moon was bright (day after a full moon) and I was looking down into the grass for snakes, when I heard a rustle about 2 meters in front of me. I had startled two wild pigs and annoyed the third. Two of the wild pigs were moving away, and one was moving toward me. First ...
Day Fourteen - Remember The Alamo
... through the site of the Alamo. Mostly, it was nice wandering the river walk and dining at the waterside patios. Travel Tip - you can stroll along the river walk with open alcohol, as long as it is not in glass. Also, if you fall in the river you will be fined. Tomorrow I head for the Texas Hill ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hill Country Inn & Suites San Antonio
Really Nice Place To Stay
Me and my family stayed for a total of 5 days and 4 nights. Overall, it was great. Every one was satisfied because there was something for all of them to do. The older kids were able to swim in the big pool, the grandbaby was able to swim in the baby pool and play on the playground, and my husband and myself were able to use the hot tub. I only had one problem or complaint. Two nights before we were to leave the toilet broke and when the guys came to fix it (for the second time) they took the wet towels and passed through the living area dripping that nasty water all over the carpet. I am a germ freak and that was very unsanitary. I was told that if we left for two hours the carpet would get cleaned, needless to say not only did it not get cleaned, no one went to the room. Upon our arrival back to the room, we found it the same way that we left it.

Great Place
I stayed at this hotel with my family and I have to say it was a GREAT place. It was kind of like a small community of cabin like rooms. Our room was clean and we never had any problems with the room. The bathroom is a bit small but ok. The pool was great for our kids. It felt comfortable and a nice place away from home. I will say the breakfast was not good. Just muffins and cereal. The juice machine was always out or orange juice!! I liked the availability of the internet computer in the lobby and I loved the 4 washing machines and six dryers. We were there for a softball tournament and had to wash uniforms. Great place to stay....but get breakfast on your own. If I ever travel to this area again....I will stay at this hotel.
Best Place for Families in San Antonio
We have stayed at this hotel at least 8 or 9 times in the past 10 years. The quality of service never goes down. The rooms AC works really good for those terribly hot days in San Antonio. I like it because my 12 year old can play in the living area and I can watch TV or read in the bedroom area. Every time we stay it is sold out. I wish they had more of these around the country!
Above expectations!
This hotel will certainly suprise you. I booked it from reading reviews on this site. The nachos by the poolside and free sodas are great. It is not located in the absolute best part of town but once you turn into the hotel and are in your room you would never know it. It was quieter than I thought it may be. Have two TV's was the best and my husband would sit in the living room type area while we got ready on the other side. Wireless access is available only at the poolside and cabana BUT if you have a room like we do, near the cabana, you actually pick up the wireless in your room (I'm in my room typing this) . Request a poolside room if that is important to you. The pool is nice and clean and the cabana is right there. The rooms are VERY clean. The staff is more than accomidating when you have a problem. I would recommend this hotel to others. It was a great value for four nights for us. We typically only stayed in Marriott's or Fairfield's but this little secret off the highway made us realize you can't always judge a hotel by its cover. If we had driven by this hotel and noticed it I probably would not have stopped but if all of the rooms are as nice as ours, I can assure you it is worth the stop and we are glad we booked with them.
OK Place to Stay
This is an ok motel to stay at. Our room was clean and had adequate space for our family. The bathroom is tiny with just a tub and toilet - the sink is outside the bathroom next to the kitchen sink (which is kind of a weird set up!) Twice during our 6 day stay our keys stopped working and we had to go all the way up to the front desk to have them reactivated - that was annoying and the front desk worker didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. The breakfast is from 6 to 9 and consists of prepackaged muffins, honeybuns, a couple of cereals (not ones that kids like!) & milk. They have a juice machine which was broke most of the time we were there. They also had coffee. They have a nice outdoor pool and they had wireless internet access near the front desk which was nice. The place definitely had a lot of families staying. It was easy access to the interstate. Overall it was just OK - check stayhci . com
Memorial Weekend Stay
I Stayed at the Hill Country Inn and Suites over Memorial Day weekend.
My family was having a family event in Seguine so the hotel was on the right side of town. The hotel was over booked and we had a problem in our room. Kim said she could not move us because they were over booked but she would refund my first night stay. We did get another room the next day but I did not get my money back for the first night. The motel is a nice place but I hope you dont have any problems because they will not stand behind what they say.
What a Wonderful Surprise
This is a jewel of a find for San Antonio lodging.
Clean spacious rooms with a "cabin" feel.
Location is easy to get to and close to airport, malls and easy access to other San Antonio entertainments.
We were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The front desk seemed a little confused but all in all the stay was pleasant, a good value and better than average.
Great for the family
The layout was perfect. On the outside you have a small deck and two patio chairs. You walk into a small living area with loveseat and coffee table and tv. Then walk into the hallway kitchen area with refrigerator, stove and sinks. And end up in the bedroom with two queen size beds. The room felt like a cabin but with all the commodities of a hotel room. The location on Loop 410 was perfect for going to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and downtown San Antonio.
Loved it!!!
I loved this place! Very cozy and you feel right at home! Great location, great rooms...and of course great pool area! Great for kids...playground, pool and all extras!!! Will stay there again!
