... Marc, for only 6.50€ wow!! They were in heaven. On the way home to Schwyz we got a little lost, ended up on the 419 main road thru the French countryside. Then once we passed thru the border at Basel it started to snow, and boy did it come down, we arrived home safely but there were 100's of accidents reported that afternoon-evening. Thank goodness we had our experienced driver, Werner! Four fabulous day in the ...

It only took us just under an hour to drive to Strasbourg, parked in the carpark under the the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. From here you have a great view across the river to the old town. See photo. We walked into town to the main square were you find the cathedral and a world famous restaurant Maison Kammerzell 16 place de la Cathedrale. See photo. What an experience! I dined ...

Today's ride was 50 miles in the sunshine along the canal towpath - and I've now notched up 1025 miles since starting out from Salzburg. 'Canal' I hear you say - yes, it runs parallel to the Rhine in these parts. The past few days have been very wet, lots of rain. Thank goodness ...

Today we took the train to Strasbourg. I had a delicious crepe and wine for lunch, I love France! Noteworthy mention of Strasbourg was we got to do a canal cruise and see all of the historic parts of town. Most beautiful building was the Cathedral of our Lady of Strasbourg, it was the world's tallest building until 1874 at a height of 142 meters. It's actually still the 6th tallest church in the ...

... and the old Roman gate is all that remains of that period. We walked around the medieval center and had lunch and headed out, really enjoying the town.

The drive to Strasbourg, and the border crossing was uneventful, a bit like reentering California from Tahoe. This EU agreement has really all but erased the former borders.

      We stayed in the ...
