... The backwards slant of the falls makes it look even bigger than it is. There were some logs to cross the creek at the base of the falls and get pictures from different angles. When we were done here, we continued back to the car and drove just a short ways further on Burrells Ford Road to the trailhead for Spoonauger Falls, our last waterfall for the day. ... aptly name "Harley" in a very expensive and nicely decked-out side car ($7500 - yikes). "Harley", however, looked like she was very much enjoying her ride, as well as the attention she received, and the scenery.
We took Rt 215 off the Parkway....very nice road, except Sandi does NOT like chip-n-seal gravel roads. Very nice twisties, and a few waterfalls along the way.

Ate a late lunch at Salty Dog Seafood. There was a bunch of loud bikers there (dirty, rotten bikers) from some completely forgettable motorcycle club; see, I already forgot the name. Completely loud, obnoxious and messy. Could not wait for them ...
... half-mile or so on the Big Shoals Trail to the falls. It was rainy and the trail was very muddy. Since we had planned on swimming at this waterfall, we hiked in our bathing suits and water shoes, so we weren't too bothered by the rain. By the time we got to the falls, the rain had mostly subsided. But the water was cold, at least too cold for me to swim. Only Casey was brave enough to take a swim below the falls. I did wade ...
