... blamed yet again for our state on Saturday morning, but Rob, Megan, Cassie, Megan's housemate Daniel and I eventually dragged ourselves to Sandton for the Rise and Shine Festival (we said we'd do a shift at hospital... we were so very wrong). Drank delicious gin, ate delicious food (pulled pork tacos, yes please) and saw some absolutely phenomenal bands. Highlight had to be Desmond and the Tutus - genuinely entertaining band with excellent lyrics, incredible stage presence ...

... Got checked out in a Cessna 172 RG Cutlass. At least a little bit of horsepower at this altitude. (180 HP).
My very friendly instructor Brian Ward had more fun than he expected. J
We flew from Grand Central via HBV beacon (Hartebeespoortdam) to the Brits General Flying area for some emergencies. (I LOVE emergencies).

Some simulated fires, engine failures, precautionary stuff, (boring ;-)) returning via Ernie Els golf course and a flapless back ...
