... and the exchange rate is no longer in our favour, we definitely won’t be eating out 3 times a day! We have been very spoilt staying in the family home and having lots of yummy home cooked dinners. Europe is where the budget traveller life style really starts!

... first person internal soliloquy. I wasn't sitting at a departure lounge repeating the old cliche "if only I had more time". Lament as I might my lack of funds, at least I have some. Worry as I may about job security, at least i have a degree. Im in Africa, not because its easy, so get tough and don't be disrespectful.
Your not simply a traveler, your seeking a life here.

... seems to be massive in Africa. The building contractor had been bribing the government to win the contract of building the houses which was supposed to be hundreds of millions and they were supposed to build 500000 houses but only built 100000 and ran off with the money! This problem has been rectified so the next company will not get away with that! We could probably learn a lot from Soweto as they have built lovely areas where families can meet and socialise ...
