Sydney's where its at!!!

The love affair for Oz has already begun.. The City is more Beautiful than expected and I am loving every minute....Went to Sydney Harbour yesterday and Its literally took my breath away!!! I had one of those moments where you take a step back, take in the views, breath the air and feel the sun and realise how lucky you are to be experencing it... Loved every moment! Especially the "IceBar"...this was a bar that was compleatly made of ice - like EVERYTHING was made of ice..the bar, the seats,...

Manly Island

Well we decided to head to the beach as its the only thing that you can do when it's 35* outside...So we caught the ferry at Circular Quay and took a 30 Min's ferry ride to this gorgeous little island called manly!! We defo wasn't disappointed! Only way to describe Manly is that its a quaint little harbor, with the feel of a seaside town - not like Southport or anything tho ha! couldn't quite believe that the bust city of Sydney was a simple 30 minute ferry ride away! When we first approached...

At Last, Sydney

We finally arrived in Sydney around 10:30 PM. Unfortunately, it took roughly one hour to clear customs and collect our bags. By that time the train into town and the airport shuttle had stopped running. We were forced to take a cab to our hotel. We arrived at our hotel just after midnight. Now the Highfield Private Hotel is a small family run affair, so the front desk closes at 8 PM. Not to worry, the owner leaves the key with a shopkeeper down the street. We, of course, arrived after the sho...

Goodbye to NZ!!!

25/01/07 Saying goodbye to Phil was horrible, after spending a few hours with him at Auckland airport before his flight left, I made my way to the airport motel I had booked for the night. The place was nice but unfortunately the house opposite was having a party and the blaring bass music went on till 4 in the morning!! As I had to get up at 4.30 to go back to Auckland airport I was not impressed! When I got to the airport yesterday, my flight had literally just been delayed by 4 hours!!!! I...

I could live here; just need to find a job!!!

Sydney is still as perfect as when I was last here. I had such a fantastic time in the city last time round that I nearly cried when I had to leave, but then again most people who have to go to Auckland from Sydney probably do!! (no contest!) My hostel is AMAZING! Has a rooftop pool and sauna, a cinema with three daily showings, cafe and restaurant; its basically a hotel you just have to share your room!

The Gaff Christmas Party

... didn't really make sense to me but yeah, whatever! they had a very cool dance scene and bar scene downstairs and everyone was just out having a good time, a very enjoyable night just running into everyont that you know in the bar in a city of 4 million. So anyways, i think a group of us left around midnight or so, making sure we could catch the bus back down our way. well a girl had just arrived and was ...

AUSTRALIA ADVENTURE (7/15-7/18)

... with this group of school-aged US “ambassadors,” but I got to the right group of 10 non-US adults. We went into each of the stadiums (one old, one new), saw the locker rooms, member areas, and actually step foot on the fields. Although I have no idea how to play any of these sports, it was still interesting. I also got my obligatory overseas jersey ...

- Hunter Valley--Jim and I managed to get away by ourselves for 2 nights to the wine country which is about 1.5 hours north of us. We golfed the afternoon we arrived. Jim said it was a "short course" but I found it to be plenty long for my taste.

The Big Smoke

... Well - for the walk itself yes - but for Bondi Beach? No. It has to be the most ov**rated tourist spot on earth. Its only attraction is its convenience to the city centre - an ocean beach only 6 miles from the hub. Its not busy and th**e are a few surf**s but aft** some of the beaches I've seen on this trip, I cannot explain why this one is so well known - again p**haps because of its proximity to Sydney itself. Its also the place wh**e the famous ...
