    ... word as boredom during the whole trip. Just the opposite in fact, the hardest part was deciding what option was the best most of the time.

    Huge thanks to all the friends I met with on the way, it really gave a special dimension to the trip seeing known faces in unknown places. And thanks for the hospitality too. Also for the comments and support through the blog, I've enjoyed them immensely.

    Christ this is starting to sound like a bafta-award winning speech, so ...

    ... hotel that does not open on Sunday. We took the car along to the depot and found that there was a box on the side of the building where keys could be left if the office was not open. We were just about to leave the car and keys when two men came out of the office - they were doing a bit of extra work and saw us and we were able to hand the keys over to them and they put the car away. Phew!!!!
    Tomorrow morning we catch the train back to London.

    So the journey begins!

    We encountered a traffic jam as we entered Plymouth and the last few miles were at snail’s pace. We got to the hotel early so we left the car in the hotel carpark and walked into the centre of the city to collect the train tickets for our journey to London on Monday.     ... called that and is a dairy farm and produces Dunstaple Ice Cream. Before my visit I arranged to meet with the current owner Jo and her parents, who had owned the farm previously. I also asked if she knew of anyone who could drive me around the area to visit local churches and cemeteries. Jo graciously volunteered to do this.
