... be like in our future home. We were amazed and confused at how temperate the place was year round. But, even taking in the reversed seasons from the switched hemispheres, the temperature was still hovering in the 70's and 80's in the winter and 60's and 70's in the summer. We're pretty sure the temperatures are supposed to be warmer in the summer... And...wait... isn't Dunedin pretty far south (er...yeah)? Wait... THERE IS A TOWN IN FLORIDA ALSO NAMED ...

... and some are like Weatherspoons but the beer is very good.

In NZ they recycle everything and there are more second hand / charity shops than even at home. They take it very seriously and as clothes and shoes are very expensive over here they are thriving. They are nicknamed OP shops and they sell everything and anything. They are like stepping back in time to the start of the first settlers coming over there is stuff from every decade. It's brilliant we all go past ...

Usually Dunedin would be full of students with a great night life, but being summer they have all gone away for Christmas, so the city was pretty quiet.

... of town till we went to get some lunch after washing. We had Chinese take-out and seen some unique (to put it nicely) characters while we ate sitting on a bench. We were planning to leave town and camp for the next few days so a shower was necessary. We found the opportunity at Moana Pool. To get more bang for the buck I swam a couple of laps before hitting the shower.
We wanted to do one last thing before leaving and that is climb the Guinness ...
