Sydney, New South Wales, Australia iandanderson... konomisk sett.
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia daffen... crazy person's premises, putting what little cash we had in the honesty box plus a sorry and iou note and getting kitted up to go look around the tv room and kitchen. oh, before all that though, sean left me to go have a shower, and it was horrible, as you can imagine! afterward we discovered that the kitchen was actually pretty amazing and turned out to resemble a country kitchen complete with tiny wooden cupboards, a cooker, laura ashley inspired curtains, and fake aga ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia vickz_2... rock and watched the waves and the tide come in, after all that we still had to walk up the steps. Got to Coogee bay in 3 hours, we all fell asleep on the beach, almost went in the sea but it was so windy that we didnt want to brave being cold when we got out of the water. Went out to dinner in the evening found a nice busy little nit expensive place to celebrate my birthday called Trattoria. Mussels in tomato and glarlic chili sauce to start, BBQ beef fillet on a bed of herbs ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia siov.hall... partying. Everyone was assigned meals to prepare and we indulged in some delicious eating - Brad cooked up this spinach and cheese baked deliciousness and we had endless piles of meat, eggs, beans, etc. for breakfast. And despite all of the partying, everyone was remarkably responsible, with the kitchen constantly being cleaned and dishes constantly washed. Brad and I jammed out on guitars for sometime. Everyone lounged ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia chiapoe... to the hats we're used to seeing at the Kentucky Derby. The race was the beginning of the Spring racing season, the weather was perfect and there were about 4-5 tracks throughout Australia with races that day, so there was a race to bet on every 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure our Aussie hosts never actually watched a live race and preferred watching the TVs and betting on races all over the country. Thankfully, early on in the day ...
Randwick, Australia cwpickering... easy, not serious cupboard - closet dob someone in - squeal/tell on someone dodgy - sketchy doona - comforter, bedspread esky - cooler fair dinkum - real, true fairy floss - cotton candy feeling ordinary - hung over fire brigade - fire department flat out - busy flat white - espresso with steamed milk flatmate - roommate (same apartment) footy - Rugby League, Rugby Union, or Aussie Rules Football (3 different sports!) fringe - bangs full on - hard core ...
Randwick, Australia va-in-oz... it, I worried that it might be occupied. I actually considered explaining to the hypothetical occupants that it was my last day in Sydney, and I'd formed an attachment to this particular bench over the past 10 months, and could they please vacate it so I could enjoy one last bench-sit with my man Douglas Whitton. Then I realized just how weird that would sound. Thankfully, it was empty when I arrived. The area surrounding ...
Randwick, Australia va-in-oz... sure what he was expecting from this. We met up on Saturday night and went to Darling Harbour, which is such a great dinner date place because there are heaps of nice restaurants and it's all beautiful and lit up at night. After much deliberation, we ended up at an Italian restaurant at an outdoor table with a perfect view of the water. The waitress even put the cloth napkins on our laps for us! We shared a $36 bottle of wine and ate lots of good food. It was really really ...
Randwick, Australia va-in-oz... that many people showed up, but I enjoyed talking with the people that were there. Everyone was sharing the wine they brought, and this Saudi Arabian guy was particularly enjoying drinking MY wine. Then he proceded to spill the rest of the bottle all over ME! Thankfully it was white wine, but I had just gotten my pants dry-cleaned that day! I should have realized that was a sign of bad things to come... My professor, who had been continuously consuming bottles of beer ...
