... to camp on one of the largest lakes: Redfish Lake. It came highly recommended by random people despite the fact that we’d never heard of it before. Unfortunately, the campground was full. We hadn’t planned our route far enough in advance. We found out that there were lots of other Forest Service campgrounds along the Salmon River which is a confluence with the famous Snake River.

Caldwell is the gateway to the Snake River wine country. The Best Western does carry some of the locally produced wines. Some of the largest seed companies in the world are based in Caldwell. We ship seed worldwide. We also have seed buyers coming into the area from all over to see the crops. We annually give big ...

... about 135-140. A cold day made for a nice soak in the springs. There were red spider mites, but weren't too bad unless you leaned against the edges of the pool.

The ford of the river was freezing (particularly so on the way back, near dusk). We saw a porcupine in the snowy road on the way back towards the highway to Lowman.
