          ... to Annette most of the time as she fired off questions regularly. The Royal Monastery of the Emerald Buddha is very special. The Buddha is created out of a single piece of jade. It was discovered in Chiang Rai covered in plaster. The green stone was revealed when the plaster was removed. The stone was thought to be emerald - hence the name.           TTT7 8:45M, Friday 16/10. Chiang Mai airport Helloooooo Early start to the day as was a 7am departure to the Chiang Mai airport.
