The log cabin is very well appointed, real log fire, fully stocked kitchen, and the resort itself has a very nice hot pool area, with sauna which overlooks the mountains

      Beautiful Resort

. Since we were arriving a little late at the resort, the woman checking us in asked if we would we like to upgrade to a bigger unit with a better view (usually $100 more a night) for $20. We said sure and were given the key to a unit close to the main lobby.

This was a townhouse style unit with three floors. The top floor was a queen bed with a full bathroom and looked over the living room. The main floor was a full kitchen, complete with marble counters and a dishwasher, a large dining room and a living room with a wood burning fireplace. The lower level had two bedrooms and a full bathroom. The lower level was not like a basement and had nice windows to see the great view.

We picked up some wood, which was located at several areas around the resort (included with your room), and made a fire.

Beautiful all season pool, hot tub and sauna. As you sat in the pool you could look out over the mountains.

Absolutely perfect place to stay in the mountains.

Staff were very nice and friendly.

Woke up and packed the car ready for our next destination - Banff! Bit of a hazy cloudy day so we decided to skip the Jasper Tramway which we thought we'd try and fit in this morning. Headed back down the Icefields Parkway and appreciated the scenery from a different angle. We decided to call into Moraine Lake for a look. Absolutely gorgeous colour …

... able to make a complete round.

Today was Star Wars day, it took me a while to actually figure out why. I haven't been snowboarding in 3 weeks, so I thought it was time to head back onto the hill while I still can. It is a bit bizarre putting on snow pants and a jacket when its 5 degrees outside, but there was still plenty of snow left on the hill. I decided that today was going to be the day that I try Goat's Eye Mountain ...

An early start due to time difference body clock meant that Brendan was waiting expectantly at the ski rental shop when it opened. Before long he was off for a day's adventure at Sunshine Village, Canada's highest ski area, where his gimpy knee held up well and he splurged for an afternoon of private skiing with an instructor. Great snow, a friendly guide ...
