Today we ventured west and journeyed across the rest of the UP, through Wisconsin to Duluth. On our way to Duluth, we stopped at a Wisconsin nature center- where i learned that the northern great lake area (i.e. up, wisco, min) has second to Alaska the number of wolves! wolves are a big deal up here. ... the smell of roses but the smell from hell. The scent to me was that of a rotting corpse. I had first noticed this scent on our trip up two weeks prior.
