A travel blog entry by trevorrose on Aug 29, 2014

... We followed the route all morning through some quaint little towns, but all the so called highlights were more old garages, derelict shops and a couple of old drive-in theatres! The only highlight was an old servo that had a shed chock full of old curios and a store that was the same - an old guy came out and introduced himself as Gary Turner and then proceeded to reel off all the places to see on the remainder of Route 66! We bought a truck to carry the camper today! It needs a little work, but seems basically strong. Once we get it travel-ready, we need to go to Arizona to pick up the camper.

... tell him where I was. Took a hike (about 2 miles), flat, but lots of pretty foliage. Saw a turtle, a frog, and a rabbit. Put up my bed (I had brought a cot, pad, and sleeping bag) and ate dinner out of the cooler. Lots of folks were in the park, my neighbors were a youth group that sounded like they were having fun. Sat in my chair on my small front porch (where I could see the lake), read my ...

    Homecoming show!

... and dirt and said dirt turned instantly into mud and little lakes all over the lot. It rained just long enough. The funniest part about the rain is that a woman who came to the first show complained to me about the mud on the lot, saying, "I’ve been coming to this lot for years and I’ve never seen it muddy!". I had nothing to say, so I just smiled and moved onto the next person in line.
