... tunnels flooded and cars were forced off the road. We were fortuitously beside a large gas station as we got off the road so pulled in for shelter. 3 hours later we were still there...stranded at a gas station. The good news is we had food, drink and washrooms. Mom bought the only bottle of red wine at the gas station (which Tara joked would taste better because it had aged on the shelf for 3+ years). Today we left Guilin and headed to Hangzhou. Being just a 2.5hr flight away it shouldn't be too difficult, but it was not to be so. Due to torrential rain in Guilin our flight was delayed and we ended spending 10 hours in a small local airport with many many others.
