... No surprises there! We rely so much on our ipad and our cellular data simcard didn't work here so we were relying on our memories. Good exercise! Later on we went for a wee stroll and were pleasantly surprised to find the areas round the canals are very intriguing and beautiful. There are barges everywhere, lots of which are permanent homes with little gardens. This is really an enlarged version of Venice as the canals are wider with streets ...

... food was excessive and I chose not to eat about half of the set menu. I pocketted some for tomorrow. The duck had obviously been working out because it was a really tough piece of meat, still with some signs of feathers attached. Someone will tell me that that is a sign of something French and romantic, but it just looked second rate to me. ... the time to look for flights, I started to freak out with the prices. I couldn’t find one for under 700! I had only budgeted around 550 for a flight, which I thought was reasonable. KLM only charged 660, they had only started flights to Harare at the start of this year which worked well to my advantage. ... the city and post some stuff home. Later that eaving were all had dinner and then a canel cruse as it was i final night all together. Of course we hit the town again and party til early hours of the morning. Tuesday morning was quitd sad as we left. Some of the group stayed behind and some were droped off at the airport.
