    ... dropped us. Not much happening there - a bit of shopping, a farmers market and some sights. We stopped for a beer at a local hostelry.

    By 3:00 we were back in board and headed for the downtown again. We arrived and took a look at one of the canal cruise boats, The William Shakespeare, and snapped a photo or 2.

    Next, we decided to find a bit of supper. But first, we had to check Mcdonalds to see if they served beer. They didn't - they did in Salzburg ...

    Ok, so up and away at 8 am and off with our tour guide Andre. We headed back put the motor way to were we had come through yesterday, then we turned off to out first field at Bocholt Lowick. Today's agenda was too look at FL2140 (Orwell), FL2108 (Brooke) and FL2221. Our guide took us too all of these, quite a few fields of Orwell which seems to be growing nicely. ...

    ... fairly calm water through scenic canals and small passages parallel to the Rhein we eventually got to the adventures part of the trip. At this stage the water got rougher and waves got taller, eventually we were in the thick of it being tossed splashed by waves splitting one the rocks that we jumped and glided over.     ... a restaurant Bastians for Christmas Eve brunch...and had one of the best breakfasts ever! We shared a platter with cheese, meat, butter, honey, jam, something called "land butter" and a basket with all different types of bread/croissants. It was so Christmassy in the restaurant and really felt like Christmas! After walking around the city a bit and checking out the sad ice skating rink that was all melted, we headed to our next stop...Köln or Cologne.
