... were now sat on the beach, the oldest was around 40, maybe the offspring of one of the original group, all the others were younger, once a year a hippy festival is held here.
After dragging ourselves away we drove back to Heraklion, we plan to visit the Minoan Palace at Knossos tomorrow and want to be there early, we hoped there would be a car park at the site where we could stay, sure enough there ...

We pottered about in the morning getting ready to leave. Logan had his walk on the beach and then we went to reception to pay. There wasn't any sign of life there or upstairs where the owners live. We know they are busy collecting their olives, Les walked to the restaurant to see if anyone was there. ... the attractive harbour from the circular Vousismeni Lake who's shore is lined with cafes and restaurants. It wasn't far and we parked at the harbour and walked through the town to the others side where there was a marina. There were four campers parked in the marina car park, it must be a popular site for overnight stops. We walked through the marina, there appears to be more boats in dry dock than in the water. There are plenty of big yachts ...

After playing games with Logan in the large car park we headed towards a remote hilly area north of Agios Nikolaos. When we parked for lunch a car pulled alongside us to see if we were lost, the driver was Canadian, he told us he had come to Crete to escape the snow and was surprised to see so much here. We told him we were just having a lunch stop. The whole of this area feels very bleak, it's like being on a remote moor, every so often there are little hamlets, ...
