We arrived here at Yonah Mountain on Sunday 9/22 The trip up was nice and the roads werent bad. When we arrived the campground Hosts (Bill and Norma) met us at the front and took us in a golf cart to pick out a site. This is another awesome campground. Well maintained and very nicely laid out. We learned a new game from Bob, Norma and ed and Diane called marbles. Uses cards ...
... hill....they laughed and asked if they should wait until after we finished our lunch to tell us.
Walked around Helen and took a few nice pictures of the architecture, and got some penuche fudge at Hansel and Gretel candy shop.
Buzzed back and stopped to get some laundry soap in Waynesville. Chilling tonight and doing some laundry.
I love riding down here, but it is much more tiring than straight "highway humping"!
Fred and Mary Beth served up another good breakfast: fresh corn fritters, a veggie sauté, and a fruit bowl. This morning another couple joined us, but the conversation was not as relaxed or lengthy.
I think the four of us think alike at such times. It's over, so let's get back home forthwith.
Which we did, with my negotiating ...
... had some passable New Orleans cuisine. (They didn't have the redfish which Roy and I had really wanted).
We got back to CH about 9, so we sat out on the patio and talked, not having the energy or appetite to get that bottle of wine and the chocolates. (So Roy has the chocolates in his fridge, and I have the wine on our rack, awaiting some night soon when we can have them out on our deck.)
Another really great night's sleep for all of us.
... I'd given up and started to leave the shop.
By then we could check in at Cedar House. Patty and I took the Mountain Bluebird Room; Deborah and Roy, the Chickadee Room. Very quaint, ours being quite small. Our hosts, Fred and Mary Beth, were delightful and interesting.
On for an evening in Dahlonega. It was an extraordinary dining experience for us all. We stopped first at the Back Porch Oyster Bar, where Roy and I had probably the best oysters on the half shell ...
