... After checking out we made our way to the train station planning to get a train to Verona. Our plan didn't quite work out as the next train was in 2 hours. Luckily the buses were more accepting of our limited time to see Verona and we were able to get on one almost straight away. ... dinner until about 8:00 p.m. – but from that point on, the joint was jumping! Our meal, like many in this part of Europe, started with a meat plate which included proscuitto and salami. This was followed by bread and "chip puffs" - not sure what these are actually called but they were very light, puffy and delicious.

... only did he make it to third base - and with Coach Vo as the third base coach you can be sure there was a large body protecting Sam with every pitch so no line drive might make contact - but Sam boldly stole home with an impressive slide into home plate. The crowd of course roared!

Wednesday was a good train day. On the Brescia to Cremona leg, the conductor gently lectured for not validating/stamping our ticket before boarding. This is a little complicated. On Regional trains the ticket is 'open'. No set time when you use it. If a conductor does not come by your seat and punch your ticket, then it still could be used again. It has no date to be used by.
