... bought up some more salumi, local sparkling wine and crusty bread that we could take to his second cousin's where we were expected for brunch.

The mortadella and salumi were a bit too rich and fatty for my liking however Francesco had also got some gorgonzola which blew me away. We spent a lovely couple of hours at brunch but then it was time to take his mum, Betty, out to lunch.

Back into the Fiat to pick up Betty, we drove through corn fields to another ...

... ourselves smell less human, we head out for an apperitivo at a friend's bar. The Bicicletta (prosecco and campari) goes down amazingly well and Francesco gets his first copa of the trip - copa and all the other cured pork products have been haunting his dreams since we booked the tickets. We follow it up with lunch at a local pizzeria and end with caffe and a Cavallo (small glass of Montenegro).

... the kids were asleep at 6am.
