Houston, we're not Kennedy Space Center

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Oct 05, 2015

Our main reason for being in Houston was to visit the Johnson Space Center (JSC). We arrived at 10am and got a spot right by the entrance, because there were not many people there. We immediately jumped on the site tour. First stop was the actual ground control center used for the 60s to 80s rocket launches. The current ground control center is one floor down. Second stop on the tour was a building where they are developing vehicles and ...

Another drive today, this time to Seabrook which is 20 minutes south of Houston. It was a 4 hour drive and we were surprised by the amount of greenery and trees around during the drive. We expected more sparse areas, desert and brown. The drive took us right through Houston, and it got a little hairy driving through it because of some crazy drivers. Fortunately ...

I disembark as I walk round the back of the bus I see her, how could she not be a Flores. It reminded me of my last family visit ...

... backcountry ski touring. Summiting afforded stunning views of mountain peaks crowned with clouds formed from the moist Pacific air. Ill miss the silent power of the mountains, but I'm looking forwards to the never-ending blue.
Sitting around the airport I’ve seen many people dressed in similar clothing. One was a Christian help group for El SAlvador, another called Water for Life. All of them proudly displaying the American flag on their shirts. ...

... annoying buggers, but I'd forgot about the more well known Mozzy.
Whilst putting the tent up I started to get a few bites, it was pretty early in the day so was surprised to see them out. Also whilst doing the tent stuff there was a massive loud squawking like something off Jurassic park coming from the tree's over the river, it was one of those Pelicans and I've mentioned I seen them in Santa Monica and they were big, this fella was absolutely massive and ...
