... I have unlimited (and unpaid) time... We were on the bus after that for nearly 4 hours (with a pit stop) when we got to Bikaner around 5:30pm. This hotel was supposedly "commercial" and not nice, but I'm getting lucky from here on in with the trip apparently since the other females are either together or requesting single rooms, so I'm getting my own room for the rest of the trip, I think. :) BONUS. Bikaner is not much of a tourist city, but I enjoyed it more than most other places! The two days I spent were minimum hassle, minimum stress, and minimum price. The only reason I went was to see a temple, which it turns out wasn't even in the city, but 30kms South. I know what your thinking, '30kms is nothing', right? Well, when the speed limit is 40kms ...

I miss the UK dreadfully!! The next day, the sun was up and at Kalka we managed to get tickets for our connecting 'toy' train (tiny rickety thing) to Shimla in the Himalayas. It takes 6 hours!! We met an English couple who had only arrived in India 2 days ago and were going to cycle around ...

... we were able to see many small camels - a couple that were born just the day before. The male camel mating call is so weird -- it really has to be seen to be believed. They show their dulla - an inflated, pink, tonguelike bladder and then they make this gurgling sound as they stomp their feet. Very weird and disgusting!! So, there are 3 main camel breeds - Bikaneri which are the strongest with the best skin and hair; the Jaisalmeri ...

We arrived in Bikaner after a 7 hour bus trip during the afternoon. I (Michelle) suffered alot during this trip due to the heat. Was really glad to finally arrive, although it was a couple of hours later than we thought. We checked into our hotel at 21.30, treated ourselves to an AC room cos I needed it. ... arrival in Jodhpur, oh yeah, we ran in to the Seppoes again. We hung out for a day, then in the morning, we finally said goodbye to the Seppoes, and made our way to Bikaner. The train trip was nice, and five hours later, we were there. Bigger than we expected, very dirty and dusty. As soon as we left the station, we ran into Henrik and Erica, a couple of Swedes who we did our first Varanasi boat trip. Amazing the people you see in the middle of nowhere ...
