... for the Lord's wisdom in having us help meet her need. I pray that he was glorified, as His people reached out to help, and that she would know who sent us through my prayers with her. Upon relfection, Michael pointed out that God always has his people where He wants us. Like Andrew puts us where we need to be to do our job for Camfel, God puts us in the right place to carry out His work. When we fail to complete that job, we ...
Wildwood, NJ, New Jersey, United States mikeandkelseyI've been wanting to visit the European Christmas Markets for several years now, but my husband was reluctant - he's not a fan of the cold! But this year he relented. I'm approaching one of those "milestone" birthdays, and frankly, I would rather travel than have a party, so this year we are going!
We got brochures in the mail from a number of different companies featuring Christmas Time Cruises. I also ...
... slip when I told him we were going to LA and his reply was “she MIGHT make it”. But as this was an adventure and my eBay trust was at stake I gave him the money and let Cath follow me (I was driving the caddy) to drop off the caddy at budget. Cath’s face was a look of OMG but the deal was done so it was off we set heading to the resort town of ocean city.
Ocean city is a narrow strip of land with only two main roads both ...
... some good color. We went to this cute Italian restaurant that night called Cucina Rosa. Both mom and I had this amazing Mediterranean shrimp dish. Tons of garlic though, let's just say we could have kept any vampires in a 5 mile radius at bay that night. We then did some souveneir shopping and got some ice cream.
Tuesday (my birthday) it rained so we head over on ...
... Marina and heading for a shrimp dinner at the Lobster House. The Lobster House is a giant sea food place right on the docks where the boats come in. Its always packed but the atmosphere was worth it.
A good run for the day. The weather looked iffy but the f-cast called for two days of light air and 2-4 foot seas going north. This looked like a good weather window on our passage up to New York and points north.
Monday morning we said our goodbyes to Karen and Allen and set off across country to Cape May, at the southern tip of New Jersey, where we were meeting up with more friends - Ken from Boston and Diana from Cape Cod.
Despite the big distance Ken and Diana have to travel, we all arrived within 15 mins of each other at the little house we are renting -so we open a bottle of wine to celebrate before heading to the local supermarket to stock up on ingredients ...
... state. It won't matter if you never set foot in that state again because the next time you have to renew you insurrance or drivers licence it will pop-up that there is an outstanding warrent in your name and you will be forced to deal with it then and the fines will be much greater at that point... which would be just fine with towns like Dewey Beach. Don't do it... Don't give them the satisfaction... It's not worth the intestinal distress let alone ...
Dewey Beach, Delaware, United States etan122Leah came down to meet me and Andy in Rehoboth Beach, DE before packing up the car and hitting the road. Since the weather was so nice, we decided to take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to enjoy the scenery that surrounds it. Somewhere along the way (maybe 3 hours into the 16 hr car ride, the heat stopped working. I later was told by a mechanic that I was at the boiling/freezing point for my radiator fluid or something...makes sense now). Our ride down wasn't ...
Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, United States ktowers86Labor Day. Three Day Weekend. NEW JERSEY SHORE. Woohoo! My parents drove down from Northern Jersey. Silke and I drove up from Washington, DC. The weather was perfect. It was a nice chance to relax in the sun and surf.
Wildwood, New Jersey, United States ilombardoA great end to a great summer. Stuart and I were going to go out for dinner. Then he had the crazy idea to go to Cape May when I stopped at his place. Me being flexible and spontaneous went for the idea. We saw the sun set over there. It was my first time on the Jersey coast this summer, so it was nice. I also scraped my knee when I tried to jump off a lightpole. So it was extra fun.
