For our last two nights we are at Universal Studios the other main attraction in Orlando. Tom had arranged accommodation at one of their better hotels,the Loews Portofino Bay and it is excellent though we had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready which was annoying.

... line for the rides) as soon as we got there, which was disappointingly limited to a single entry for 3 rides so we chose the 3 most popular (longest lines) rides, we began exploring the park. Throughout the day we managed to get onto 11 rides, with breaks in between, but the highlight was definitely the last ride of the day - Space Mountain - which was a fast roller-coaster in a dark ...
... we drove over to Downtown Disney and had dinner at T-Rex which is a dinosaur knock off of Rainforest Grill. CRAZY busy and noisy. We were happy to take a seat in the corner of the bar and calm ourselves via the giant aquarium.
Home again - we are packing to leave on the next and final stage of our trip... which leads me back to where I started.

... by a tram, followed a bus to get to the airport at 0840- a nice 2 hours before my flight. Fortunately I'd actually checked my flight time, because I was originally going to have to catch a bus at 0530 when I thought my flight left at 1015, not 1051. That would've got me in to the airport at 0700, so a 4 hour wait would not have been fun. Especially as there was only one tiny shop at the gate for entertainment! The day ended with Fantasmic, a dramatic night show with water and fireworks, directed by Mickey Mouse, as the show goes from all Disneys heros to villians in Mickeys imagination, he overcomes evil and the heros save the day (or something like that), a great spectacular whatever and IMO worth the 90 minute wait for the great seats we had.
All in all the day was pretty much summed up by Mickeys Imagination...... ...
