Heritage Hotel Orlando

... the local weather with my cousin Maureen that lives in the Orlando area I was more convinced that I made the right decission, but then my cousin Maureen suggested I still go but stay at her place, which is what we ended up doing, and I am glad I did because my kids and I had a great weekend and I got to spend some time with my cousin Maureen that I very much enjoyed.

In the afternoon went to wet n wild and had another go on some rides. I carefully stayed out of the sun to give the sunburn chance to heal.

all told a lazy day .... but a nice one. Also had some chocolate covered pretzels... yum yum...

... bit at the food court, went to our room, got our luggage and groceries delivered, unpacked, wrote this little ditty, and went to bed somewhat earlier than previous nights. All in all a rather slow day, but we needed a slower day today anyway with all the excitement so far. Time for me to sign off and let Jessica type her entry. With the 'telescope things' they provide, you saw every detail, right down to the pipes along the ground and the bulldozers that looked like 'tonker toys' next to the enormity of the scaffolding/elevators and levels that make up the launch area. It was surreal. From there (another 10 minutes down the road), we visited the Apollo Centre which recreates the whole Apollo launch ...

... the sheets and towels in the washing machine and started a load, and then made sure all the electrical appliances were unplugged and clean. Check. We were ready to go. Dad pulled the car out of the garage and we all ran in for quick bathroom breaks before we pulled out of the driveway at 5:00 AM. Goodbye house! I can't even tell you how hard it was to hold back the tears as we drove out of Orlando. Every single year I get all teary as we drive ...

Disney: Day 8: Free Day Today, the final day before leaving back to Johannesburg on Monday, was our free day to do shopping etc. Made a stop at the Orlando Premium Outlet stores, which is factory shops for most major brands, and got myself a new pair of Levi's!! After that we made our way to the new hotel (for one night.. other hotel was a 7 night stay only). The hotel for the night is pretty close to the airport, and its located at Florida Mall ...

There was a game called the "Mission Space Race" where some people go into a big round area and do something (I have no idea what), some other people work on computers, and there are people playing online from home, all working together to simulate a space launch.
