We got a taxi to the airport for our 50 minute flight to San Diego.

Our hotel was cute - much nicer than we normally stay at, but it only opened a few days before so we got it really cheap. We walked to the Gaslamp Quarter. We had drinks and dinner at Dick's Last Resort, where the wait staff are supposed to insult you and embarrass you …

We take Dylan to Sesame Street Bay of Play where he loves a huge bouncy thing, just like a bouncy castle bottom built into the floor. He leaps around crashing and rolling and killing himself laughing. We marvel at how much he's grown since we've been away and how much older he seems. When his turn is up he asks of he can join ...

... tour lead by Bert, a volunteer who obviously loves leading tours. He entertained us for more than an hour and a half with his humour and historical stories. Walking around in the heat made us thirsty so Greg and I bought root beer floats, the first ice cream float I’ve had in a long time and it was delicious.

On Sunday we decided to stay away from downtown so we went to a huge flea market in our area located in an old drive-in movie lot. We saw the usual: lots ...
