Today we leave Ton & Ria to travel to Deurne to see Riny & Anita. Into the rental car and off we go, no problems getting out of Papendrecht and onto the motorway except we are heading in the wrong direction!! Bugger. A dodgy navigator I put it down to. Oh well let's follow the Tom Tom now it might be easier. Otherwise a easy drive down south. Arrived around 1.30pm and then had time for a catch up before dinner. Also had ...

Ignoring the typical grey sky of a North German autumn we headed out to the spectacular town of Monschau which was established about 1000 years ago. On the way we passed through Holland and Belgium to reach this small German town, an experience that is incomprehensible to an Australian mindset.

Small relics and reminders of World War ...

      Impressive Roermond

Up and had a quick breakfast as we wanted to get underway. The sun was shining again and lovely and warm. We turned off the main Maas on to the old route and went through a lock and eventually found the town quay in Roermond. At first it looked like a dead end so we did not want to venture down it, but as we passed slowly John noticed a yacht inside after the house boats, so we turned round and went in. It was a beautiful town ...
