      Hi you all.

Here I am. My new blog but now about my life as an Au Pair in America.
In about 9 days I leave this beautiful country named the Netherlands. The countdown is started yiehaaa.
I was always convinced that I knew where I would be the next few years. But taking this amazing year abroad I really don't know it yet. But hey let's say: sometimes it's better to leave ...

Today we leave Ton & Ria to travel to Deurne to see Riny & Anita. Into the rental car and off we go, no problems getting out of Papendrecht and onto the motorway except we are heading in the wrong direction!! Bugger. A dodgy navigator I put it down to. Of course I had some sort of a whish list containing aspects that (ideally) would apply to my future apartment. Close to a train station, reasonable distance to work, shops in the neighborhood, not adjacent to a busy road... But to be honest I did not have much of an idea about what to expect, except that my apartment would be small.

On the first day with the real estate broker ...

      Impressive Roermond

      9th May 2013

Up and had a quick breakfast as we wanted to get underway. The sun was shining again and lovely and warm. We turned off the main Maas on to the old route and went through a lock and eventually found the town quay in Roermond. At first it looked like a dead end so we did not want to venture down it, but as we passed slowly John noticed a yacht inside after the house boats, so we turned round and went in. It was a beautiful town ...
