Fort Miles and the observation towers were abandoned by the Army in the early 1960s, but there have been some efforts to preserve these structures.       G&R was a nice campground in the woods. This campground was only about 20 minutes from Dover. This made for a good home base while we looked for a place to live. God found us a great place on Dover Air Force Base housing. A very nice two bedroom two story four-plex.
