Decent Hotel

Stayed for 2 days in May 2003 in an economic twin room. The rooms were comfortable, of adequate size and spotlessly clean. Although the hotel is a little out of the way from the town centre, there is a tram stop 5 mins walk away. At night a taxi costs around 20 euros from the Leidesplein. All in all a decent hotel for the price. The only down side is that a lot of the main attractions aren't really within walking distance.

We made our way to a cheese market in Alkmaar (30min north of Amsterdam) to see teams race to see who could weigh and carry the fastest. We got there just as the market was starting and we managed to squeeze a spot into the the crowd to get a poor view (go early to get a good spot).
