... Emmanuela, who came to Australia 2 years ago and did a bit of babysitting for myself and Brooke. It was a really fun night, Emmanuela has 2 younger brothers who are 14 and 16, and after dinner they kept the kids very entertained with play station, computer games and playing soccer. We had an amazing 4 course meal and lots of wine and grappa! We were there till 11pm, so they boys did very well to last that long as only Luca had managed to get a nap in the car during the ...

    Back to Austria?

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Sep 18, 2014

Time to leave Valle Verde. Decided to give Austria
another try as we are hearing that the weather has improved. However, with low
cloud this morning, there is little point in going over the high Dolomite
    passes.

Decided to go north through Moena and then west over a lower
pass to Bolzano. As expected, the low cloud made for little viewing of the

through the first gas bottle since leaving the UK.

We then went on to the ACSI site at Camping Valleverde,
at 1050m, arriving around 10am. Found a nice pitch and checked in. Really nice
place, with heated bathroom facilities and a nice restaurant. A regional card
is thrown in for 2 euros per night extra, offering free bus rides, chairlifts
    and 30hr ...

Beautiful driving, through Corvara and Colfosco

... Drove over three passes in total, each over 2,000 metres.
Campsite in Colfosco pleasant enough but relatively expensive at knocking on 30
euros a night with electric (double what we paid at Olympia, for a better
location). Stopped to enquire at a second around Canazei but again knocking on
    30 euros..

    Refugio Col Druscie.

Returned to base in the afternoon via the Lago Ghedina –
lovely lakeside restaurant there (Ristorante Ghedina). Heavy, thunderstorms
